I would have been all over the run to Stansted on a day like that with all of those closures in town. Real mood killer on the Kensington job when you put all of that effort in, thinking you’re doing someone a good turn and they throw it back in your face like that. Feels like the people you do the most for are least appreciative, while the folk you take 5 mins up the road in a straight line can’t thank you enough.

I was sure the next thing the lady was going to say was, "I am only using you because Uber are on surge pricing". When she complains that you have gone around in a circle, ask her where you are. If she doesn't know, say how do you know we have gone around in a circle then. Or if she does, ask her where we started from, then say how is that a circle? Or I've done the knowledge, how could you possible know a better route than me? Works every time. BTW you never earn more money sitting in traffic. The myth about cabbies looking to sit in traffic is rubbish. You earn more money by doing more jobs quickly-period.

I literally had this same scenario today T5 to Phillimore gardens. A4 is closed at Earl’s Court & Kensington high street is closed so I explained and headed up through Chiswick/turnham Green Shepherd’s Bush etc and dropped in from the the top. “Oh we should’ve just got the tube” 😂🤷🏼‍♂️ literally cannot win. If they don’t physically see the traffic they don’t believe it exists.
