Saturday Supercade intro complete

I combined the Long Saturday Supercade intro and added the intros for Kangaroo, Space Ace and Pitfall. I hope you enjoy it. I also increased the volume on some of them to balance them out.

Man, this brings back some awesome memories! As a child of the 80's, I always looked forward to the Saturday Supercade, in addition to a slew of other Saturday morning cartoons. I just plopped down in front of the TV with a bowl of Cocoa Krispies, and I was in 7th Heaven! Plus, this was around the time when my parents bought a Colecovision Adam computer, and it had versions of the classic arcade games, like Q Bert and Pitfall, so that was an awesome bonus. The early / mid 80's were an amazing time to be a kid, and if you were a kid during that time, you know exactly what I'm talking about! I had my Saturday morning cartoons, my Colecovison Adam, my Transformers robots, my A Team action figures, my Star Wars toys, my Tonka trucks, etc. Life was about as awesome as it could possibly get!

I couldn't have said it better myself. I was born in 1973 and Saturday morning cartoons were always a treat. This was back when kids didn't have a lot more options as they do now. That was during a time where we were allowed to be kids. We grew up fast as it was.

Gotta hand it to the makers of this show, they were able to get a lot of licences from several companies. Nintendo, Namco, Gottlieb, Activision, and others. That couldn't be cheap.

It's kinda weird to think when listening to the closing theme, that there was a day when I was a kid, I listened to that theme, and it would be the last time I watched Saturday Supercade.

Just FYI, Tapper WAS real. It was put out by Midway. There were two versions. Tapper that had the player slinging Budweiser, and Root Beer Tapper. You can find the game on some Midway arcade compilations.

As of right now WA is going to be put out this show but i'm pretty sure the hold up is that they want to license the shows they no longer own to try and make it complete again, i assume they'll stall it as long as they can until they run out of HB/RS (Warner considers them one library now) and will put out what they've got. On fb they've confirmed they do own Space Ace, and do not own Donkey Kong, DK Jr or Q*Bert. They have yet to make any "official" statement on their page on the others

+Jeremy Williams I was an Hour-Long program on CBS from 1983-1985. Each segment was 11 minutes long. Season 1 consisted of Frogger, Donkey Kong, Pitfall Harry, Q*Bert & Donkey Kong Jr. (Pitfall Harry & Q*Bert rotated each week while the other segments were weekly) Season 2 consisted of Kangaroo, Donkey Kong, Q*Bert & Space Ace which were all weekly.

Roy Koopa I thought Donkey Kong was one of the most popular ones I remember where he was working with a couple of crooks who stole a machine that can make toys in a snap and Q-Bert I remember him chasing those snakes on the roller coaster tracks.

Jeremy Williams In the credits, his voice actor Soupy Sales was credited as "STARRING SOUPY SALES as the voice of DONKEY KONG". So I can tell Donkey Kong was popular back then.

I owned & played most of those games from the Coleco Vision to Atari 2600 days, MY favorite out of all of those was Yars Revenge, It was never a Saturday Supercade cartoon, but it was a hell lot of fun!

The fact still remains that Q*bert, Donkey Kong, K.O. Katy, et al., are on a long list of who and what helped keep me away from drug abuse and alcoholism and all that crap when things were at their worst. If that's not grounds for tracking down the people in charge and smacking 'em upside the head whatever number of times it takes to send the message that the wait for the DVD release has gone on long enough, I don't know what is. What's left of my mind is as good as spoken now. Thank you.

They ran from 83 - 84 then 85 showed reruns until it was pulled off the air. Boomerang would occasionally show Space Ace as a filler between cartoons.
