The defensive line will benefit the most. So much depth and versatility. Now you add proper scheme and you have problems for opposing offenses

But that will benefit the secondary and they will thrive off the new scheme and the added pressure on the opposing QBs

Macdonald's first year as coordinator was a top 10 defense. Then blew the doors off the next year. This year we have potential to drastically improve from last year. If that's the case, and the offense improves a bit, we can do quite well. Playoffs!

Only thing to slow the offense down is the line. So will see what that can do

Hes gonna elevate every level of the defense he does more with less look at all the guys that had career years innhis scheme macdonald is a mad scientist

Defensive Line. Agree with your comment on secondary. This whole defense is gonna be bad ass. GO HAWKS!!!!

The secondary. Reason: The communication and coordination in the secondary will create a lot of confusion for offenses and help the front get the extra time to get home. It is consistent on film from what you see with the Ravens over the past two years. Beyond what happened to the Seahawks in Baltimore last year, Macdonald's defense befuddled LAR, DET, SF, MIA, and even KC shutting them out in the second half of the ACFCG. It will be a welcome change for the Seahawks who under Carroll thrived on athleticism, effort, and competitiveness, never schematic superiority on gamday. So now you'll see several times on gameday under Macdonald where the opposing offense will seem a step behind, see ghosts, and hopefully late this year and in '25 start to be physically overmatched by the revamped Seahawks defense. I can't wait to see it, but also pray for inclement weather to come back to the Emerald City consistently in the fall so the 12s (noise) and the team can mix all the unique elements of Lumen to make it once again the most intimidating home field advantage in the NFL. I'm already ready.

It's kind of insane how high people have the Rams when the Rams and Seahawks were pretty even teams last year. We lost a game against them we should have won, and had we it would have been us in the playoffs and them watching. This off-season, all we did is address all our weaknesses, as they did, but they also lost the best football player in NFL history. But people are talking about them like Superbowl contenders and talking about the Seahawks like we are going to be even worse than last year. We won NINE games last year! Improved roster. Improved coaching. How do people have us winning less this year?

@@Ben-b9y8n yes really. Last year towards the end of the season, we were matched up to play the rams, 49ers, cowboys, 49ers,and then eagles (in that order). That stretch really sucked and was destined to keep us out of the playoffs. We only beat the eagles out of those 5 teams.

Man, I can’t explain the level of love that I have for Mike McDonald the way he stopped the whole activity from Sean McVay before it even gets started, put him straight in his place a pimp slap in the heavens down to the depths of hell to his face and told him stop where you stand I’m not going for none of the bullshitthis is the best Coach we could have possibly landed and McVay is totally not getting any sleep. Thinking about facing this two times a year.

true, a lot of good coaches in the NFC, Mike Mcdonald hopefully makes a huge impact in the nfc, better yet the NFL. Go Hawks

Macdonald has to do his best coaching with the linebackers because it is the least skilled group on the defensive side of the ball. A decade of Bobby Wagner has spoiled me.
