(Theres like 5 types of southern US accents for example) Your example reminds me of the liverpool vs London accents. Or Welsh vs Scottish. In America most southern dialects also end in an upswing (Appalachian). This is something they share with Californian accents. But then again there are southern accents (Cajun,Texan) that end in the down swing. New Yorker accents usually have down swings as well. Sorry you took me down a rabbit hole there 🤣

Because if they knew they weren't nailing the accents WHILE parodying cheesy Aussie classics then pulling out Fosters was entirely consistent. Shame on you. But if they were trying to nail the accents and the peculiarities of Aussie culture, then the Fosters was a fail. Shame on them.

Kate Mckinnon can actually do a pretty spot on Aussie accent. What her video where she sings the Ghostbusters theme song in different accent. Kate's Aussie accent in that video sounds like it came straight of sunrise. Exaggerated accents were obviously used for comedic purposes here.
