(though, I'm pretty sure "judgment" without the extra e is an alternate spelling, as with most words that had their spellings changed in the 1800s with the Webster/Oxford dictionaries, just like "aknowledgement", "theatre", "centre" and such. really, it just depends on which historical root you feel more comfortable being consistent with: if you're more inclined with French roots for words, than centre, theatre, racquet, and cheque probably look better to you. If you're more inclined for old english or germanic roots for words, than having the phonetics in order of when they appear makes more sense, like "theater", "judgment" (without the extra e), and such.)
