Beg to differ. Jokes don't land because the premise seems wrong. Ted Bundy and the Boston bombers were arguably as attractive as Luigi, yet never got the kind of support by the wider public. The piece sidesteps the real reason for this support, which is insurance denials that murder 60,000 Americans per year due to grifting CEOs with no medical expertise. Good comedy provides insight, and old SNLs did that and weren't afraid to court controversy. Strawman comedy smells funny but isn't really funny.

She's not as good as Kate McKinnon, but she is one of the better SNL cast members. Sarah Sherman is probably the best at making other cast members break character. I used to find it hilarious on the Carol Burnette Show when they laughed at each other when they weren't supposed to, and it's still funny on SNL. It shows they really enjoy working with each other, and that's fun to watch.

Except you can never know how much any medical visit or procedure costs in real time because the insurance companies make it impossible to know. They want you to make the decision in real time when your sick or injured without telling you exactly how much its going to cost. Drs only really know what your co pay will be everything else has to be submitted to your insurance. Then they are going to fight your doctor tooth and nail for everything submitted in your medical visit. Once they have denied everything they possible can you can get a bill for far more than the average person can afford. The sad truth is if patients actually knew how much some things were going to cost they might actually choose declining interventions or even death. Rather than having to face bankruptcy or financially crippling their family. Insurance companies M.O is to deny anything and everything they can possible get away with to make more money. Price transparency and universal reasonable prices across the board is the first place we need to start to fix healthcare US!
