I doubt she "decided" anything. Celebs have a team of people calling the shots -- PR reps, agents, managers. It was most likely decided by them that it was better for her image and career to acknowledge (after the critics and internet and public at large had already agreed) that the bad movie she was in was bad. It's not brave at that point. It's damage control. Brave would have been continuing to insist it's good and urging people to see it... Like she did before it was released.

I guess that rather than being nervous, I felt that she was excited. I thought it was lovely that she allowed her joy and youthfulness and vulnerability to come through. She's probably aware, even at her young age of what an honor and a big deal it is to host Saturday Night Live, and I felt she also came across as being very poised and well-prepared. A real pro, and so talented.
