I actually think theatre kids are among the most grounded in high school. Subjected to pointless ridicule because of their passion, oftentimes ostracized but generally have a good grasp on life. The people who really get a wake up call are the athletes who become so used to the constant cheers, love, admiration, popularity and are confronted with the harsh truth that nobody really cares about all that beyond high school (unless of course you are undeniably exceptional, which very very few are)
