@@markycypress8484 In the United States, 1 of the holidays is President’s day. Instead of celebrating it for it’s true meaning, companies advertise sales and discounts and people will buy. Sadly, all of our holidays are about that.

They were unfortunately wrong, I guess american history before the 1860s isn't taught in high school because Vermont and New Hampshire abolished slavery in 1776-7.

@@juliannehannes11 Black people aren't exactly in love with living in the mountains it turns out. Also no no no no no, it was Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and every Northern state in 1804 including Martha Washington freeing her slaves in 1802. The real POINT is not only is that damning proof that these were good people wanting change (the first abolitionist movement was the Quakers in the 1600s.) but that there were always people to trust. Boston, infamous for being illogically racist at times during the 1970s (makes sense, as the Malcolm killings had many people up in arms and of course rumors and media spreading via television news) sent out a warning to all negro lives in 1851 or so, saying to watch out for fake policemen who were actually commissioned to bring slaves back to the south under the guise of an arrest. Genuinely worry for Boston and how they adressed the real citizens of Boston whom were negro, it was almost touching.
