To be fair when most people think Midwest accent they think the "Iowa" or eastern Nebraska accent - Johnny Carson/Tom Brokaw. I'm a 50 year Iowan and know that even different parts of Iowa have different accents. Iowa Falls is way different than Corning, and Wisconsin is WAY different than Missouri. These accents were..... Agreed. I adore Saturday Night Live! But this sketch falls far short of good. I'm not angry, I'm not offended. I just think this sketch brings together poor writing, poor acting, and poor attempts at accents, all in an effort to make fun of stereotypes. Poorly executed. I'm surprised it wasn't cut for time.
