@@averagedayif you’re truly asking and not being sarcastic…..bc Mama Cass was very heavy and it’s been the focus of jokes for 50 years. That she choked on a ham sandwich and that’s why she died, etc. Even in the Mamas and the Papas, Michelle Philips was the classic California beauty, and I remember them talking incredulously about the love letters Cass Elliot got, more than Michelle, despite her presumed unattractiveness, that it was bc of her beautiful voice that men fell in love. They overlooked her weight bc she sang like an angel. Even one of their song lyrics was “and no one’s getting fat except Mama Cass.” So most references to her are jokes about her obesity.

After watching this sketch so, so many times, I think it's one of the best-crafted sketches I've seen on SNL. Holy sh*t??!! The vocal range ??! She could voice act even a grown man character , a teen one would be pretty easy for her!! Props to her for that 👏 🎉

Emma Stone just elevates every SNL episode she is in, she’s just stellar and everything else is working at a higher level around her too.
