Saturn Opposition is upon us!
Saturn is the ringed jewel of our Solar System. It is a visually stunning planet and with practice can be captured in amazing detail without having to leave your house.
Join me as we process some Saturn data in preparation for Saturn opposition, the point in orbit where Saturn is at its closest to Earth.
I also wanted to apologize for the long absence, but after coming back to work my channel just had to take a backseat for a little bit. I am truly grateful to everyone who stuck around and all the new followers as well. I have some great stuff planned and I hope y'all enjoy!
Clear Skies!

Great video! In case you didn't know, you can bump up the Brightness in Autostakkert temporaily, to place a single small AP on each moon. That might produce a sharper moon in your final stacked image. This is especially useful for Jupiter, since there is potentially a lot of detail in the moon(s).

Hey Josh! Sorry for the super late response. I’m glad you enjoyed it! I do that all the time for Jupiter’s moons. I was actually asked to make a tutorial on that specifically today, so..

Hi Matt, I am hear because Trevor Jones said you were killing it! You did not disappoint, I have been doing nothing but deep sky up until now. But I finally used my MAK/Cas rig , with an ASI533MC, not a planetary camera. I dove in with autostackert and registrax with Saturn in opposition. and got great results considering Saturn was low in the sky and I had to stop imaging early because the clouds moved in. I did this before seeing this video, Next time I will apply some of your post processing techniques, I learn more about regitrax thanks to you.

I recently watched one of your videos and all I can say is I'm hooked and learned some great tips about post-processing. I hope you do more content about planets like Jupiter and eventually DSO as you did with your Moon videos.

I have loads of ideas, just kinda sporadic when I get to execute them. I’m not too sure about DSOs just yet, but there are several people on here that already crank out amazing deep sky content. I greatly appreciate you enjoying the videos!

Hey Matt....Just subscribed after Trevor mentioned you on his current Saturn imaging KZbin video. apparently he used a C-11 Edge with a 2X barlow. Glad to hear about you and your dad going to West Texas to capture images. I've been to the TSP on the Prude Ranch many times and it's a great place. Without combing through all your videos, what gear are you using to capture those large planetary images? Maybe a C-14 or a big Apo? Of course it's all about the seeing conditions. I live in Arlington, Texas and you need to head West for darker skies. Thanks for your answers....
