The ego exists for a very good reason.
@Gil_GameshКүн бұрын
@@Ekam-Sat Yes, the ego exists because we give it our power -- because we have chosen to belief what the ego "thought system" tell us -- it keeps us involved by telling us (deceiving us) that we can push our guilt away from ourself onto others, but it doesn't tell it that we can't get rid of our guilt that way. So we hold the guilt and rage in our unconscious minds, and as it interacts with the conscious mindbody, we don't know why we are sick -- so we seek medical help, psychiatrists, religious help, etc.

@ I follow you and understand what you are saying. If we use dependent origination then it all leads back to a singular truth which manifested itself as different (differentiation within oneness). Both the Bible and the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad speak of cosmic loneliness as being the trigger of origins which is why Jesus speaks to love each other. Maybe the bodymind complex acts as a filter so God could experience love. Please let me know your opinion. Either way I am interested. Blessings.

@@Ekam-Sat According to "A Course in Miracles," God (the Source of Life which is Love) extends Itself to a "Son," (a creation as Itself) -- yet God retains that "Son" within Itself in complete communication in timelessness. We are that "Son." God gives us the same function as His -- to create -- and we also extend our one whole Self in creation as God does. However, in this world it is impossible for us to create because we perceive ourselves as limited particles. We cannot release our power of creation when we are dividing our strength between God and the ego. Limits are demanded by the ego (as Shunyamurti calls it, the "shrunken particle") -- but there are no limits in creation. So in this world as we perceive ourselves, forgiveness becomes our function -- however, in our true state in which we were created, there is no forgiveness needed (because we have not changed ourselves or our function) -- forgiveness only applies to the illusion of being in time. Jesus taught us to love each other because if we limit our sight of a brother to his body, we are not releasing him from littleness, and so we deny it to ourselves. To keep any brother as prisoner to limitation simply reflects that belief in limitation back onto ourself. If one brother is missing (excluded) from our willingness for union (wholeness), then how can we release ourselves to wholeness? Our minds are already continuous and sharing, but we deny it. Choosing to believe in ego (separate autonomous particles), we prefer to choose to have private thoughts and bodies. The symbol of the ego is the body, the idea that we are autonomous particles, alone and seeking love but not finding it. Ego thought teaches us to seek for love but never to find it (because it is only found in the wholeness of all with Source). The "singular truth" which you mention is the union of God and His creation in a whole "receiving and giving" communication. The way God thinks is "whole" -- that the part is whole, and the whole is in every part. However, in the ego thought system, we have a desire to fragment and be concerned about the truth of just a little part of the whole. We look away from the whole to what we think we might be able to better understand, to try to keep a bit of understanding alone. Jesus taught forgiveness, which means that in God's meaning of love (which is the only meaning of love), no one is excluded. We must not hold grievances from the past or we will not release ourselves to the whole. The way we perceive reality and the way we judge in this world are not natural to our truth, because we have taught ourselves to be not as we were created (by belief in the ego thought system). As Shunyamurti explained it, the unnatural thought of the shrunken particle is to be at war with all the other shrunken particles it perceives, (which are actually the same as itself in wholeness). The shrunken particle (which is an illusion) perceives itself as alone and perceives the projection of attack onto others as its salvation (to protect itself as alone) -- but this is merely a deception, not reality. God does not need a filter to experience love -- God's one need is to extend love, and God does extend love perpetually, in the infinity of timelessness -- we ARE the extension of God's love -- that is our Being in wholeness. We are "of Him" and "in Him," and we receive and give that love -- but we must not impose limits, demanding sacrifice (limitation) of ourselves or others, such as in special relationships. Our reality is that we have one love relationship with everything in joy -- and we are not in so-called cosmic loneliness, although we have taught ourselves that a concept such as "cosmic loneliness" could be real.

Thank you!, Shunyamurti! The particle in quantum reality looks like the ego in social reality whereas the wave function of quantum reality looks like the condition of Supreme Self. Lao Tzu in Tao Te Ching called us to be like water flowing around the rock but not like a rock. Ego is an object of observation that is forging and molding the ego. The Self isn't an object and exists out of observation.

Brilliant! -- blessings to Shunyamurti and to All. This teaching is the core of the work "A Course in Miracles." The practice given is called "the holy instant," where the shrunken particle image expands its view into the whole (and its completeness). The instant can be any instant. It's like phoning home to the real Self, the complete Self that is perfectly created and that is in union with Self and Source. In some forms of meditation, we think we are alone trying to clear our thoughts or visualize scenes or flow with the breath -- but in this "holy instant," we are expressing our willingness to join in complete communication, with no private thoughts or separate bodies, but with the supreme infinite nature of our Being. At 3:22, "...once you have understood that there is nothing you can get that will bring you happiness except to stop being a shrunken version of who you really are, then you will know happiness -- when you know your full potentiality and your full extent of Being...." Shunya, please follow up with a video on how to practice this "holy instant." Thank you.

To have joy, IS, to die to everything that will die tomorrow. Live only for the eternal, not for the temporal, because you will be left empty handed, and in desolation when you lose it, because it’s destined all to be lost, everything that you hold on to in this plane.
@Ekam-Sat3 күн бұрын
It's the other way around... the eternal is temporal so it could love and be loved in return. So why not simply love?

@6:44 Why didn't everyone who visited Ramana Maharshi or other sages gain instant God realization/happiness if all it takes is for one being to see through the ego of the other being? Isn't it more accurate to say that the ripeness for realization varies?
@FlyfreenowКүн бұрын
well of course it appears that way, for the ego is the creation of what could never be true and cannot accept the view of the realized Infinite Self they are, as they see the world through the eyes of the ego which believes this world to be real and cannot fathom otherwise, argues with realization vehemently as though it's very acceptance would feel like a death... and thats the whole point. We die to, let go of, who we believe we are, to know who we are.... as we can accept that truth over the egos truth. The more we accept and experience what is true, the more willing we are to surrender the ego's view
@jonmustangКүн бұрын
@@Flyfreenow I don't think that really answers my question. What I'm asking about is proof or evidence of Shunymurti's claim that Realization happens miraculously to people who are around a realized being. Shunyamurti claims this, but Ramana Maharshi, Sri Ramakrishna, Buddha, Jesus and just about everyone who we say is a saint says that's not how it works.

So, once we have been freed of our egos, should we no longer choose to interact through it? Must we let it dissolve completely? Even if it is to interact in a meaningful way with others in our lives? is that lessening ourselves? Or as long as it is done through awareness and creates no harm, is that okay?
