I get why they did it, but you know what was the greatest thing to ever happen to black metal? When the founding bands of the genre realised that you don't have to play at hypersonic speed to be in an extreme metal band. This song, for example, is as evil as fuck and it slows down and GROOVES. The music has room to move, to breathe. And I love it...

I discovered Black Metal in the month of March 1997. I was 16 years old and already a diehard Metal music fan. But my big brother (RIP man) has been coming back to home with something that I was aware for having heard about Black Metal in Norway and lots of things that I don't need to tell, we're all knowing what it is, but also heard about something totally different, very great and extreme both. What he was bringing home was still a new release at this moment. An album called Nemesis Divina. And the very first one Black Metal band I listened and who changed my musical life forever is Satyricon! Just saying, my brother made Mother North playing firstly, so it's my very first BM song I payed a real attention to. And still my favorite song ever, but I discovered a lot of other stuff in this universe. I saw you twice in Montréal, it means 7 hours on the road to me to go down south in this town of my country (Canada), but I did it in 2018, so much more than a single great show, closed the front of the scene, in the first row! I cannot wait to see what you'll have to bring nextly, and be sure I'll do another road trip to see you, who is my favorite band overall, you made me discover Black Metal, and at 41 now I am still there, nothing changed in my mind, musical tastes and look!! Hails from Canada to Norway! 🇳🇴 🤘 🇨🇦

wish i had gotten to see sweaty guys in corpse paint. i saw the Adicts once, their vocalist wears clown paint. that's the closest i'll ever get to seeing a Black Metal show. if i had been paying more attention to the progression of Slipknot &metal instead of getting caught up in punk i could have seen him&you guys. i like punk but Black Metal has everything, Euronymous really knew how to pull from the best/"worst" & make it even better. 2 very good musicians, besides Satyr&Frost. they're dead, that's shitty. what's shittier to me is people tginking th3 production quality on songs like Ghoul are terrible. even Euronymous. that's the essence of Black Metal to me, besides SATAN. that pisses me off. the was that demo &those first 5songs iirc are what Black Metal &opposition/Satan are all about. but i guess some artists don't always want to be boxed into "sounding like shit", it seems too juvenile to a lot of people at least from what i've read. the sound always gets refined &starts to sound like every other kind of music, i thought that was partially the point of Black Metal. like with Euronymous &Manheims L.E.G.O project&the talent show where they were mocking the way music was being done. that's also an attitude of a trickster spirit which is inspired by the fallen, mockery. clowns are related to that spirit too. that's why i love clowns, Spirit of Satan. things like that make people panic though or think it's bullshit, it's the lack of understanding of how things relate. clowns aren't evil, just like Satan isn't evil. God is evil, but since God is in everything that makes everything evil. God is Life, everything that lives &helps live/promotes life has the essence of God. God allows Death through the creation but supposedly God doesn't die, it's endless so how can it be Life&Death? how can it be everything if Death is apart of everything &it(God) doesn't experience it like we/animals/planets/plants etc.. do? i don't know where that last bit came from, mention Euronymous &Satan&clowns &my mind goes fucking somewhere else. religion is a messy thing &it permeates in everything, even when people may not want it to. everything becomes routine& religion, religion is routine.
@dEAthlikEstAtic Жыл бұрын
i hate conversations over the music at live shows, the comment section is the equivalent so i'm sorry. the comments on the Internet are easier to ignore tho, not as easy at a show with people so fucking close to you yelling about what they did last weekend to people they may or may not already know at the show they're currently attending during some of the best parts of songs. worst thing about concerts.
