Take a look with me at the lock for DROY. Sauce Gardner is not only the best defensive rookie, but might be the best cornerback in the league right now. Break down some film with me today as we track down why he is so good and get to the end of the question: did he give up a touchdown?

I've been a Jets fan way before I was even born because of my father, and I have never seen a corner outside of Revis of this magnitude playing for my beloved Jets. We can't forget and also give thanks to DJ Reed for taking Sauce under his wings and showing the kid how to be a pro. My beloved Jets in my opinion has the best trio's of DB's in Carter, Reed and Sauce. Gr8 segment dude. I just subscribed to you channel because of it. Keep up the good work.

Became a Jets fan when I was 10 because they drafted my favorite college player (Shonn Greene) the first season I got into watching the NFL. He wasn’t there long, but I’ve endured ever since. Now we reap the benefits of commitment 💚

Yah the first time I released it, I had to take it down immediately because it completely bombed. A bad name and a bad thumbnail left only a 1% click rate. For reference, I usually have around 8%. I took it down after 3 hours, put some more work into it, redid the advertising, and have sent it back out a couple weeks later! Hopefully it doesn’t bomb again because I like this video. Also don’t worry, for loyal fans like you who have seen this before, I have a great video hopefully dropping tomorrow! Thanks for sticking with and thanks for the congrats!

Okay so I messed up but not in the way you think. It is still zone coverage but not the ones I drew on screen. The corner over the bunch is actually a flat zone and the corner at the near side of the screen is a deep third zone but because of how tight 5 yard line defense is, zone is played very similar to man. Sorry for the inconvenience, I have no idea how I miss saw that. Thanks for pointing that out. Feel like a knucklehead on that one.

@ChalkTalkFootball
@ChalkTalkFootball Жыл бұрын
Interceptions is an overrated stat when determining Cornerback value. Think Treyvon Diggs last year. Guy led the league in INTs but led the league in yards given up. While Diggs has gotten better this year, personally I do not think Diggs was that good last year. A cornerbacks job is to not allow pass yards, INTs are just added bonuses. Sauce Gardener is better than anybody in the league at stopping the pass. He might not get crazy amount of interceptions, but he is the legit definition of shut down.

@@wizwiz-pr7jg I don’t think Riq is better than Sauce but he didn’t play bad that game, Pete had him playing zone to prevent letting up a big play but this left the middle of the field practically completely open. Even with Riqs insane recovery speed he still can’t make up for Aiyuk cutting inside while he’s 3-4 yards away from him.
@quentinhirst3637
@quentinhirst3637 Жыл бұрын
This ain’t true at all, Tariq does have less targets, but he has allowed more receptions, for more yard, given up more touchdowns, has less tackles, has a higher completion percentage, only one major statistical category where Tariq woolen is better. That being interceptions. Which is almost entirely a luck based stat.

Oh jeez another "he always holds and PI" anti Sauce Gardner crowd. If he's holding and doing PI so often how come the receivers almost never complain??? Last time I checked for blatant obvious holds and PIs, the receivers always complain to the ref, yet I never see it when Sauce shuts them down

@@BigBroKuma Would love to make these vids sadly though I haven’t uploaded in awhile. Biggest problem is my passion is football and to make the videos I spend about as much time as editing as I do watching film, making an analysis, and writing a script. I don’t have a passion for video editing and it has really killed my drive for this channel. I still analyze football I just don’t make the video because the hours and hours of editing is boring and kills my love for the sport. I wish I had an editor tbh but unless they were to do it knowing they might not make much, it’s not realistic. Thanks for the watch by the way!

@ChalkTalkFootball
@ChalkTalkFootball Жыл бұрын
Let me guess, you are big fan of the current state of roughing the passer penalties. Let the guys play football. Sauce utilizes contact within 5 yards and then utilizes his hands for when his eyes are else where. As long as it is not egregious, let the kids play. Anytime a CB touches a WR, there are a group of fans who believe it is always a foul....
@BigBroKuma

You are the same fans who are always complaining about penalties in the NFL 😂 didn't see yall say nothing during Asante Samuel's rampage against the Jags
@joesanthosh5315
@joesanthosh5315 11 ай бұрын
Bruh 98% of the so called "PI plays" ya'll Jets haters/Seahawks fans claim is the receiver initiating contact with Sauce in which case some contact between the 2 is allowed as long as its not egregious and it has always been allowed to play out as it isn't preventing the receiver from being able to catch the ball. If they're really PI or holding, then how come I never see the receivers complaining to the ref?? You think a player on the Jets, a franchise that has been terrible and the NFL doesn't care much about or promote or give preference to, is getting covered by the league to not call any penalties on him??? You mean the same team, who when on offense, literally had exactly ZERO roughing the passer calls called against the opposing defense all season despite clear evidence in film of hits just seconds after the throw that are always called RTP for every other team????
