He writes his own stuff mostly. His drummer was the drummer for the David Letterman band, and the keyboard/Hammond organ player played for Stevie Ray Vaughan. He does a blues cruise out Miami every year…Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea”. We went for our 20th anniversary.

From Wikipedia : Joseph Leonard Bonamassa is an American blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. He started his career at age 12, when he opened for B.B. King. Since 2000, Bonamassa has released 15 solo albums through his independent record label J&R Adventures, of which 11 have reached number 1 on the Billboard Blues chart. Wikipedia ... Opened for BB King at age 12?!?!?!

Joe Bonamassa is a Blues/Blues Rock artist. Joe was a child guitarist prodigy and he opened for B.B. King at the age of 12. Joe also went rogue in the music industry revolutionizing the new method of recording by being the first to fully use the internet to build his brand and start his own record label. Joe Bonamassa has more No.1 albums than any other blues rock artist in history, he has more than 30 cd's out and several duets with other artists.

He is still touring..... go see him, you won't be disappointed! Must listens: Trouble Town, Blue & Evil, You Upset Me, You Left Me Nothing But the Blues, Breaking Up Somebodys Home, Angel of Mercy + many, many more. He only tours with musicians at the top of their game. The background singers are world renowned (Mahilia Barnes, Jade Macrae, and Juanita Tippins) and Reese Wynans tickles the keys for JB (Formerly with SRV). I could go on and on about this guy. Joe Bo-Na-Mas-Sa has been playing, Blues, professionally since he was 13 years old, definitely a prodigy. He has played with many famous Blues guitarists over the years and has always been technically GREAT. He is now starting to get a style that shows real soul. He plays with many artist, namely a Blues singer, Beth Hart. I would also suggest a guitarist Derek Trucks Band. He is the son of a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band; his dad was the drummer, Butch Trucks. Derek's wife is also a great Blues artist Susan Tedeschi. Pick any LP of Joe's, you won't regret it. I especially like the Dust Bowl LP kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGW7hHemftBgiqc

The question isnt where has Joe Bonamassa been. The question is where have you been. Joe has had 15 number one albums on the Billboard Blues Charts. I can understand that you might not be familiar with his music, but not to recognize blues and think it's country? You have a long way to go on your musical journey, I'm afraid. I suggest that you check out more of Joe's outstanding work. He was a child prodigy as a guitar player. He was so good he opened for B. B. King when he was 12 years old. So try to make the leap, learn how to pronounce a four syllable name, and imerse yourself in some incredibly complex and well played music. And one more thing...you might want to invest 5 minutes to Google an artist who is new to you so you have some frame of reference when you listen to their music. It will make you a better music reviewer.
