He writes his own stuff mostly. His drummer was the drummer for the David Letterman band, and the keyboard/Hammond organ player played for Stevie Ray Vaughan. He does a blues cruise out Miami every year…Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea”. We went for our 20th anniversary.

This is Delta blues. Joe "Bonna Massa" is the spiritual heir of B.B. King and Muddy Waters, with a side of Stevie Ray Vaughn. You must check some of his collabs with Beth Hart. Blues that will tear your soul loose.

From Wikipedia : Joseph Leonard Bonamassa is an American blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. He started his career at age 12, when he opened for B.B. King. Since 2000, Bonamassa has released 15 solo albums through his independent record label J&R Adventures, of which 11 have reached number 1 on the Billboard Blues chart. Wikipedia ... Opened for BB King at age 12?!?!?!

Joe Bonamassa is a Blues/Blues Rock artist. Joe was a child guitarist prodigy and he opened for B.B. King at the age of 12. Joe also went rogue in the music industry revolutionizing the new method of recording by being the first to fully use the internet to build his brand and start his own record label. Joe Bonamassa has more No.1 albums than any other blues rock artist in history, he has more than 30 cd's out and several duets with other artists.

He is a child prodigy. At age 9 he was already in a band with men 20 years older than him. By age 12 he was touring with BB King. He is amazing!

Joe's longtime producer, Kevin Shirley, has produced albums for Journey, Iron Maiden, Rush, Beth Hart, Marya Roxx, Dream Theater, The Springbok Nude Girls, All Night Radio, Steve Louw & Big Sky, HIM, Tyler Bryant, Mr. Big, and Europe. Maybe some of the more heavy rock and roll influence you're hearing. Just pick anything from Joe, and you won't be disappointed.

15 studio albums and counting, was touring with BB King at age 12. Arguably one of the best, if not the best, rock-blues guitarist/vocalist alive today. He is still touring..... go see him, you won't be disappointed! Must listens: Trouble Town, Blue & Evil, You Upset Me, You Left Me Nothing But the Blues, Breaking Up Somebodys Home, Angel of Mercy + many, many more. He only tours with musicians at the top of their game. The background singers are world renowned (Mahilia Barnes, Jade Macrae, and Juanita Tippins) and Reese Wynans tickles the keys for JB (Formerly with SRV). I could go on and on about this guy. Thanks for reacting.

Joe Bo-Na-Mas-Sa has been playing, Blues, professionally since he was 13 years old, definitely a prodigy. He has played with many famous Blues guitarists over the years and has always been technically GREAT. He is now starting to get a style that shows real soul. He plays with many artist, namely a Blues singer, Beth Hart. I would also suggest a guitarist Derek Trucks Band. He is the son of a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band; his dad was the drummer, Butch Trucks. Derek's wife is also a great Blues artist Susan Tedeschi. Pick any LP of Joe's, you won't regret it. I especially like the Dust Bowl LP kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGW7hHemftBgiqc

Ok, clearly you really liked this...but this particular video only gives you a little glimpse into Joe (""Bo-Na-'moss'-ah"). Joe is one of most talented guitarist alive today. He puts out a new studio album about every 10 months; has twenty-five #1 billboard blues albums over the past 20 years; surpassed his father's skill at 6 yrs old and opened for BB King at 12 yrs. old; has a collection of over 400 guitars; does a weekly music podcast; and tours constantly. What's even better than Joe Bonamassa is Joe with singer BETH HART. Here's a few JOE BONAMASSA performances: 1) “I’ll Play the Blues For You” (2015 ‘Live at the Greek Theatre’ concert in LA): kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6C7YYKim9atn9k 2) “Going Down” (2015 ‘Live at the Greek Theatre’ concert in LA: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWiclWl6j9yDh7M 3) “Sloe Gin” (2014 Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks concert in Colorado): kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqfZmI2DfNVoi9E 4) “Woke Up Dreaming” with Tina Guo (2017 Live At Carnegie Hall - An Acoustic Evening, NYC): kzbin.info/www/bejne/fn6UfmmmZsuci68 5) "Midnight Blues" (2017 Beacon Theatre, NYC): kzbin.info/www/bejne/bquaZZ-oaNmri80 This is Joe with singer BETH HART: 1) “I’d Rather Go Blind” (From the 2013 ‘Live in Amsterdam’ concert with Joe Bonamassa): kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3arqIKViqqjbaM 2) “I’ll Take Care of You” (Beth guest appearance at Joe’s 2011 ‘Live at the Beacon Theatre’ concert in NYC): kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXfTmaifgt10bas 3) “‘I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know” (Amsterdam, 2013): kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIC0YWqci7t3gLM and BETH HART with her band: 1) “Caught Out in The Rain” (From the 2018 Royal Albert Hall concert in London; about an unhealthy relationship with a dangerous man): kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqvHe5ltfdanqs0 2) “Am I The One” (epic performance of her song from the 2004 ‘Live at Paradiso’ concert in Amsterdam): kzbin.info/www/bejne/nouqZICdndCLabM 3) “A Change is Gonna Come” (Sam Cooke cover song from a small club in LA, the Echoplex, in 2010): kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5-sfWt3gLyFhLM

The question isnt where has Joe Bonamassa been. The question is where have you been. Joe has had 15 number one albums on the Billboard Blues Charts. I can understand that you might not be familiar with his music, but not to recognize blues and think it's country? You have a long way to go on your musical journey, I'm afraid. I suggest that you check out more of Joe's outstanding work. He was a child prodigy as a guitar player. He was so good he opened for B. B. King when he was 12 years old. So try to make the leap, learn how to pronounce a four syllable name, and imerse yourself in some incredibly complex and well played music. And one more thing...you might want to invest 5 minutes to Google an artist who is new to you so you have some frame of reference when you listen to their music. It will make you a better music reviewer.
