I think people get so blown away that Scott's bass is so good he cover's Matt and Avi's parts that they forget that he has a 4 Octave range that goes from a low G#1 all the way up to a high G#1, he's pretty incredible.💜

They are mashup masters! Their musical creativity and arranging is spectacular. There are many good singers out there, even great ones. And many clever groups. But there is a reason that this group has grammys for arranging, in a category that had to be renamed to fit them in. The level of musicality, knowledge and creativity needed to solve the puzzles they do is mind blowing! They are all killing it in this one for sure! Your shiver and stank face after one of Scotts runs and then you just going ham in your chair when Mitch got going! I'm so in love with Kirstins airy flip (?) she does throughout the song on the last la. So well done and captivating!

It's funny, I almost forget how much I love each song until I hear it again. It is fun watching people hear for the first time, too. The unique way they do backgrounds, and each one switching from background to lead and back again, filling in spaces you didn't know needed filling. I love everything they do and I specifically do not listen to pop music. Most of the newer pop I only know from them, I've never even heard the original songs. I love the whole mash up and the Avi/Mitch pair up. Kirstie looks and sounds awesome and Scotts falsetto jeez. Of course Kevin as always holds it all together with his sick percussion. Everyone is entitled to their favorites, but it's a bummer when a reactor gets tunnel vision and misses someone else's moment. For the record, you usually don't but many reactors do. When I see a particular reactor with a particular bias has reacted to a particular song, it's sad when I can accurately predict that they will lose their minds over X and completely miss Y. One of the things I love about PTX is the way they all lift each other up. I don't know why we can't make an effort to do the same for them.

Scott wears the same clothes often, even now. If you look at his TikTok you will see the same striped pants and some shirts that get a lot of wear. Makes me love him even more that he's so down to earth even with his clothes! Lol

I was so happy to see that someone requested this!! Yes, as you said SD, it is PERFECT! I also feel that the universe aligned perfectly for them to find one another (I personally call “the universe” God 😊). I deeply regret that I have only really listened to them (obsessively) since The Prayer came out. So much lost enjoyment for the past decade 😔. My bucket list now includes getting VIP tix for one of their concerts. LOVE anything they get their hands on and create!

About Mitch's tattoos: Did he just cover the Spongebob tattoo with a huge black splotch like it seems on the Making of Evergreen, or is there some sort of a pattern on it? I love all of PTX, but Mitchy has been my fav from day one! I love his skyhigh Tenor voice, its pure joy to my ears!!!! And I like it most when Scott and Mitch sing together, they were just born to do so, and it's amazing, every single time. Said it before and I’m saying it again. The ultimate in their ability to “reinvent” a song is their rendition of I Need Your Love. The original is truly 💩 and their version is simply beautiful and moving.

I actually had to check out the original, because I couldn't remember ever having heard it. I think Ellie Golding is normally ok, but I have to agree with you. The arrangement is pretty awful (I know very little about chord progressions, but that is not the one I would have chosen) and Ellie sounds too nasal. The Pentatonix version is far superior.

As far as Scott's jackets..this was broke PTX Era the often rewore clothes and shared clothes. I've seen Avi and Scott wearing the same shirt. I'm sure they still rewear clothes maybe just not in music videos.

I love how many rock/metal/punk type fans PTX has. But I have noticed that the overlap between opera/broadway/classical singers and musicians and metal/rock is waaaaay bigger than one would assume at first glance. The level of talent and musicality needed for either garners much respect even when the "vibe" might not be what you're usually in to.

With Pentatonix it's *always* a team effort. Mitch is incredible, but his vocals are supported by the background harmonies and the percussion. Kevin is amazing (I've no idea how he does what he does), but percussion alone does not make a song. Kirstie, Scott, and Avi are all perfect in their parts, but neither a few solos nor background harmonies are enough, by themselves, to make an entire song. "Penta" means "five." Five notes in a pentatonic scale, each of which can be the tonic note. Five performers in Pentatonix, each of whom can be *_a_* favorite. But *_the_* favorite is always the whole - Pentatonix.

I think there's only been one cover they've done that I actually preferred the original and that had a lot more to do with the context of the song. And there's been one where I just hate the original so much that I can't listen to their version. It was too irredeemable even for them to save.

It's more a way to say it's pop from that region. Ofc every region has some unique things to them, but like... just like the rest of the world there is pop-punk j-pop and bubblegum pop k-pop and soul/r&b j-pop etc. Might not want to write off whole countries music scenes...
