Yes they only do this on live shows. But it always goes down really well with audiences. Someone once asked Geoff what they would sing for the President if they were ever invited, and he said, this one, Road Trip, as it's always very popular. It's their sense of fun that sets them apart and we love them for it.

This was part of the sing off tour with Home Free , VoicePlay and Filharmonic. They did songs together and separately. It was a ton of fun by all. One of my favorite was..VoicePlay and Home Free doing ... Zombies vs Hillbillies... hilarious.

This is so hilarious, and only done live. Home Free also has a few performances that they only do live, like "Songs That Didn't Make The Cut" and "Guilty Pleasures". Highly recommend both.

I was wondering if you'd notice that. I never saw any of the Sing-Off, but yes, they competed the same season that HF did, I think. I believe this was a competition piece. It was hilarious!! Thanks, Christy and Saucey!

They did not perform this one in competition; they performed it after season 4 on the "Sing Off" tour. I wish they had performed this in competition as they may have had better results. They had Honey as their lead singer in the actual competition and she was not good for them at all. Honey was dominant as lead and had issues with the judges (Eli, Geoff, and Layne did not get the opportunity to really shine when they worked with Honey as their lead).

Exactly! Instead of VoicePlay it was Honey and Five Guys. Same when they competed with Emoni. They tried out with Rachel Potter, who is a good fit with the group, but she ended up not being available for the show and the producers still wanted a female in the group. The guys have become much more sophisticated in their arrangements, much better at showcasing each voice, since the Sing-Off.

@@shirleykarr560 Emoni was with the group "Ten", one of the groups they competed against. She is a friend since they met on the "Sing Off" that has been a guest performer with Voice Play on occasion. I think she performed a couple songs with Voice Play and Home Free on the tour but is more of a gospel singer-- I did not care much for her style with either group.

Love this! As many others have said, this was from the Sing Off Tour together with HomeFree and the Filharmonics. VoicePlay is my absolute favorite group, but I'm actually not that fond of the songs from their Sing Off TV show. They had a temporary member just for that show, Honey Larochelle, and she's good but doesn't fit them in my opinion. What I've seen of VoicePlay from the Sing Off Tour, however, is just great!! They're sometimes joined by Emoni Wilkins on the tour, and she on the other hand is great with them (you saw her in their Wicked medley). Another example of their humour is their Chicken Song: Voiceplay Performs the FULL "Chicken Song" in MN 2014 - KZbin Not any complex arrangement by any means and not a great sound quality, but fun!

Not only do you need to watch the full Chicken Song from 2014, you need to watch Elvira. Fun interplay (Geoff pets Earl's beard in one of them) and Geoff hits an amazing high note at the end. Home Free performs Geoff's arrangement of Elvira live and recorded a studio version with the Oak Ridge Boys. This video is from Geoff's adorkable phase, with bow ties and short hair.

Coming in very late, but since you enjoyed this you'll probably love their "Stuck in Traffic" skit. Geoff gets to be the annoying one in that, and Tony the frustrated driver. It's hilarious!

Thanks for your reaction to this fun blast from the past! As you already know, both Home Free and Voice Play competed against each other on season 4 of the "Sing Off". I know we really enjoyed your Pentatonix journey back to season 3 when Pentatonix won the championship. You would really enjoy going back 9 years ago to season 4 and checking out both Home Free and Voice Play at the same time ( as you may already know, Voice Play and Filharmonic faced off and both were eliminated halfway through the competition and Home Free went on to win). This is from the "Sing Off" tour 8 years ago when Home Free, Voice Play, and Filharmonic toured together (and became good friends) after season 4 ended. You may want to react to "Survivor- Zombies vs Hillbillies" which Home Free and Voice Play performed together on that tour. I would love to see you react to their "Little Mermaid Medley" (Your kids would love that one too).

Tony is in the front passenger seat. He was Phantom in the Phantom of the Opera. He and Layne own Pattycake Production Studios which VP uses fairly regularly.

Just heard another of VoicePlay's adventure on the Sing-Off. They had been one of the bottom 2 and had to have a sign-off with the other group. VoicePlay did Play that Funky Music White Boys with Honey. She was in the VoicePlay vs Home Free Survivors: Zombies vs Hillbillies if you've seen that one yet, you'll place her.

Other songs Voiceplay only performs live is The Chicken Song(comedy gold) and Elvira. Tim adapted Geoff’s arrangement of Elvira for Home Free. Might be fun to compare them to find the changes. Both are absolutely epic.

They were competing. They have been friends since middle school. Geoff used to work at several different theme parks in Orlando. Net his wife Kathy at universal studios where they worked together at Beatrice revue.

Yeah, front passenger guy is Tony Wakim, he left Voiceplay first and now partners with Layne in PattyCake Productions, they do really awesome videos with both covers and original music. J. None was Tony's replacement, but he left late last year to join the navy, but has been back for some guest spots with Voiceplay. Cesar came in after J None left. Middle back seat is Earl Elkins Jr., he left around summer of 2020, that spot has never really been filled, which is why you see a lot of guests/featured performers filling in. Actually in their earliest incarnation, as the group 4to5, Scott Porter (actor in Friday Night Lights) was the beatboxer, and Layne only took that spot over when Scott left.
