Perfect way to start my day! A Sauceydad video reacting to Home Free! This is the song Tim wrote when he was living in California, writing songs for a company. His boss basically told Tim he needed to write country songs so Tim went home, got incredibly drunk and wrote the silliest full on country song he could come up with....thus this gem was created! It is on his solo country album from that time as well, though his whistling is no match for your spirit animals majestic whistling! LOL This video was done during one of Home Free's marathon video recording sessions. It was filmed around the same time as the Ring of Fire video so Avi was around. He heard they were doing another video and wanted to join in. So he claimed the cowboy hat again and popped up a few times....it was his hand putting the champagne flute on the table, he obviously walks through the shot and again, when they are nearing the end of the song, he is sitting majestically on the mechanical bull in the background. He looks like he had so much fun hanging out with the guys! I can't remember if you ever reacted to it but this song has a sequel of sorts, also written by Tim... a Christmas song called "Full of Cheer" If you watch them back to back...you will see what I mean by a sequel. LOL BTW, Chance just dropped a song called "Wayfaring Stranger" with the husband and wife duo, The Hound +The Fox. Then he paired with them for their version of the "Sound Of Silence" I know you haven't reacted to them before but I do think you would love their singing...plus...you have seen them before as they are friends with Home Free and have appeared in a few videos with them. Tim has also collabed with them. They are definitely worth the time to listen.

I didn't know it was an original until reading these comments. And honestly, at first that wasn't a good thing in my mind because the themes of the song are a bit... stereotypical... for my taste. However, hearing that it was tounge-in-cheek and stereotypical on purpose makes me feel way better. I can respect that, haha! Sometimes when you're not too familiar with a group or person it's hard to know when someone is making fun of something and when they are genuine. Glaad to know they were making fun, ahah!

I was actually scrolling through the comments to see if anyone mentioned that he wrote this while in California, because I didn’t want to be the guy to make the same comment as someone else already had. :) Only thing I’ll add is that Tim actually mentioned the birth and success of this song in his interview with Elizabeth on the Charismatic Voice which I know Saucey Dad has mentioned that he watched before. :)

I love Tim's face when Avi photobombs them. First it's "wtf is he doing here", and then with the shrug it's "oh well, never mind". Oh, and SauceyDad, please do not fall from the stairs. I did that last July, broke my ankle in four places and I still haven't fully recovered yet. One of the best live moments I've experienced at one of their shows was they did this in London, UK and Tim was super surprised that we knew it and sang along with it, we even sang along with the background. My understanding is that we sing along a lot more here Europe than they do in the US so even though they'd done it so many times before he had never really experienced an audience knowing his original.

Avi was in the background too on the bull at the end of the video. This vid was done when Tim was still a single man, he didn't marry until 2016. You can see Jenika and Tim when they were engaged in their "Die A Happy Man" video and there are glimpses of her in a few other Home free videos and their tour life/behind scenes series called "Home Away From Home" (episode 7 has Jenika and Nato Potato in it)

Hahaha… this is such a good one. What’s funny is that his boss (at the time in LA) wanted Tim to write only country songs and Tim didn’t want to just write country. He got drunk and wrote this that night and it’s been his most successful song. Too funny. Love the lyrics and the video. Home Free had done the video/song Ring of Fire with Avi and asked him to do a cameo in this one while he was there. Just love it. I don’t think that’s Jenika in the video. The lady in this video is NOT his wife! Tim was not married when they sang this. A few years ago, Tim married Jenika Marion (probably spelled her name wrong)! She is a natural beauty that never needs any make up whatsoever!!! They appear to make a lovely couple and their personalities seem to compliment each other! I think that we ALL have a little bit of "the meaning" of this song buried deep down in our soul; if we admit it to ourselves! Thank you, Saucy Dad, for reacting to this very original song! TIM FOUST wrote this unique song and truth be known....it sounds just "like him"! WHAT A TALENTED GUY!!! I had the exact same reaction at the exact same time when Avi went by. I wonder if this video was done the same day they did Ring of Fire. PTX shoots more than one video in a day (depending on videos) Why not Home Free. You might’ve heard a part of it in The Charismatic Voice interview with Tim, he was asked to write a country song and decided to go as country as possible and this is the end result, technically this is a cover because Tim actually recorded a version by himself, with a band before it was a capella’d

Tim wrote this song back in his early days when he was a "contract" song writer, and was obliged to write a "C/W song". He wrote this as much as a satire of all things C/W to get it out of the way, and lo and behold, it turned out to be a hit for Home Free.
