I'm 81-years-old, and the only other voice range that I've personally heard, which comes even close to Dimash's 7-octave + 2 semi-tones, belonged to Peruvian singer, Yma Sumak, and her 5-1/2 octaves, during the 1950s. Yes, there is definitely something special about Dimash. For some reason not everyone feels it, but for those of us who do, his voice touches deep into our souls. I've loved some other artists in my life before, but nothing like how I feel for Dimash. There is just something about his voice and his soul that transforms a song. Of course, I think he and Igor make an incredible pair. Igor is an incredibly talented composer and knows how to write and/or adapt songs for Dimash's voice. Thanks for your great reaction!

Dimash often takes songs that have gained emotional power in the culture in which they are primarily located and adds his incredible conbination of technical skill, artistry, and emotional immersion. Thanks for your wonderful, sincere reaction. You truly appreciated Dimash's performance of this song. I see other commenters have given you the background of this song so I won't repeat them. When you said it made you appreciate your wife and your family, and I watched your face, you really understood and felt this most beautiful song deep in you soul. I agree with everything you say about Dimash (but I don't think it's unicorn dandruff that does the trick 😉). I think Dimash is a deeply compassionate and empathetic young man. He seems to imagine and understand human emotions beyond his experience, and express them through his art. He is a musical Rembrandt, DaVinci, Van Gogh, Shakespear, TS Eliott... Igor Krutoy, the man on the piano, he wrote this song. Alla Pugacheva is the first one to sing it. Igor did rewrite it for Dimash. I do prefer Dimash's version to Alla's. Merry Christmas.
