When I found BP, I couldn't believe it myself. If you think the talent is insane, wait until you see some bio stuff. They are so beautiful inside and out. Man go check out the early stuff. "Whistle" is my fav BlackPink song. The song shouldn't work yet it kills.

K-Pop training is ridiculously hard. They trained for 4-6 years, 12 hours per day, 7 days per week with one day off every couple of weeks. Additionally, if you listen to them speak about things, they would push themselves beyond that. Evaluations were monthly, and people that weren't up to par were sent home. Keep in mind too that they had to try out in the first place, and be accepted. In Lisa's case she had to beat out 3999 others when YG held auditions in Thailand. They've definitely improved in the six years since they've been out. They're more polished now, but all the raw talent was there and obvious when they made their debut. Also, the two debut songs, Boombayah and Whistle, are still completely, mind-glowingly good. Also of note, these girls are amazing off stage as well. They're super cute and adorable. Watch an episode or two (or all of them) of BLACKPINK House. You'll quickly see what I'm on about.

Almost all kpop singles get performed live for 3-6 weeks after their release. There are 3-4 Kpop TV shows that pick "song of the week" winners, and performing on the shows are part and parcel of the promotion schedule - that's why there is such a focus on dance/performance/wardrobe, etc... in each MV. Typically, they'll even wear outfits from the MV, since they've already been 'tested', and, since they can't wear the same outfit on multiple shows, they have to have them anyway - which is why there are so many in each MV. Two birds, one stone, and the fans get to freak out when they see the outfits from their favorite scene, etc... It is genius, really.

These four girls have nearly 20 years of training together combined Jisoo clocks in at 6 years in training. Lisa started dancing at a really young age winning competitions before she became a teenager, with that training and just the raw talent as pop stars, and then factor in these girls are really smart, I mean like all 4 are fluent in I think 3 languages and some with at least 5 they can speak. Lisa was the only pick out of 4,000 at the YG audition in Thailand Rose beat out over 700 at an YG Open audition in Australia Jennie was already featuring on tracks before she even Debuted with Blackpink and that was with G-Dragon who is a Kpop legend actually so did Rose all that I said about Jennie both were 16 although the features were a year apart as Jennie is a year older then Rose Lisa was a dancer on Big Bang stages before her debut with Blackpink and Jisoo was filming Commercials and guesting on tv shows and all of this was done between the ages of 14 and 19 basically since Lisa and Rose debuted at 19 , Jennie at 20 and Jisoo at 21

Kpop has a trainee system so jennie and jisoo did walk in auditions and got accepted and for lisa and rosie yg did open auditions in thailand and australia for lisa she was the only 1 out of 4000 thousand to be accept and for rosie it was out of 1 out of 700. so with the trainee system they were practice for 14 hours days for 13 days with one day off they also had weekly and monthly evals and they did this for 4 to 6 years.

Great reaction. Just to give you an idea how they have ended up here. Lisa has been training in dance since the age of 4, competing solo since the age of 6, competing in a national level dance troop since the age of 9. At 13 she was one of 4,000 talented teens auditioned by YG in Thailand, and the only one selected for their Training Program of about 40 girls that went through similar auditions throughout Asia and Australia (where Rose was the only one selected out of the 700 that auditioned). Lisa then trained 14 hours a day, 13 straight days, one day off for 5 years before debuting, eating at the company cafeteria, living in the company dorm (they all actually lived together in the same dorm room), no dating, no driving, no tattoos allowed. Over those 5 years the girls were rated monthly on solo, group and dance performances, where they designed their own choreo's, wrote or edited existing songs, picked their wardrobe, and where the girls faced brutal and cold-hearted appraisals (Jennie's words). The 40 girls were whittled down to these 4, the Best of the Best. Jennie was in the program for 6 years, and is the sole survivor of her Year 1 class. Each member often thought about quitting (all 4 come from very wealthy families so they didn't have to do this). So, to have survived and excelled in the brutal YG Training Program, not only are they beautiful and talented, they are total savages. They came out of that Program ready to take on the North Korean army, let alone a little old live performance.

Thank you so much for your kind jugement on bp singing live during their show on pink venom.song . For me , a 73 woman, as I am the one who's routinely do my workout(from Chris Heria continuousely for 30 min) to be fit and firm so that I have a stamina to carry on my daily life by myself. During the workout I felt very tired but not stop until done. Of course I was very tired but only for a while then back to normal. If you know well on the kpop society, all the idols were through their tough time on training for years before debut and after that they must slso keep on training as well as doing some workouts as well in order to keep them strong and have high tolorate during their preformance on stage for hours each time. So doing live singing on pink venom is only 3-4 min. which one song only was nothing for them. I do 100% sure they sang live. They devote to their fc so they try their best to make their fc happy during their show. Please try to find the story of bts Jungkook about his iseveral times njury during the show and tried his best till the end but collapse at back stage!!!. So that why I love kpop.🙏🌸🌿💕💕💅

"How are they so good?" Simply put the K-pop industry is a factory in a way. They start training artists interested in becoming stars at a very young age, both boys and girls. After years of training the best are moved up to be chosen for groups. After being chosen for a group they train together for several more years until they are deemed ready to debut. So even the newest groups are far from new. Each group also has a theme, not sure what Blackpink's is, but for Twice it is avatars that live in a virtual world with giant mambas as their enemy.

8:57 Don't be afraid of saying it, all of us became K-pop fans and we come from different tastes in music. K-pop is like a magic formula that collect us all together. I recommend you other groups with good beats, like Stray Kids (boy group), Everglow (girl group), or Kard (that's a mixed one, two boys and two girls). Other groups are more focused on vocals (like Mamamoo) focused on dance (like Itzy), but since you're looking for good beats, the first groups recommended are the key. Oh! BTS has good beats too, but start with those groups first because BTS has a damn huge lot of songs, and those deserves to be checked out step by step to appreciate them.

K-pop is full of talented individuals professionally trained to an extremely high standard. You just don't get that kind of commitment in western countries.

They use a backing track which can be more or less prominent. For this special stage it was more prominent than usual, but in other performances you can hear their voices very clearly on top of the track. The hook often has the most intense dancing so they might choose to only let the track play for that, and they add their voice only for e.g. "Get em, get em, get em". It depends from stage to stage. They just performed live at the VMAs where Lisa's mic got caught up in her costume, which made it very obvious that it's turned on. Their Coachella and Tokio Dome performances are legendary, and the backing track barely plays a role, check those out.
