Just ordered a couple pair of these and can’t wait! Coming from Clifton 9 the last year. These felt great in store! I’m a bigger guy with flat feet and looking forward to trying this stability shoe this year!

@@fleetfeet699 got to take these on a little 2 mile run. And these felt great I would have to say better than my Clifton 9s. Definitely felt stable and cushion was perfect I think as they break in they are going to feel a lot better. The uppers feel great not too tight around the foot and great heel lock! Not narrow at all either. this was a big issue I have as I’m considered a normal width shoe but with the brooks and hokas I have had in the past they have tended to be a bit narrow in the toe box. I’m a bigger runner at 6ft 4 300lbs and dropping and this is the exact shoe I needed. I can still do my intervals runs which I tested out as well. The foam feels a lot more stable than the ones in the hoka Clifton’s were a little squishy. The guide 17s has the right amount of squish. I can’t wait to get more miles in these and see how the break in! I have also seen people say they are slick on the treadmill, I did not notice this when I did a treadmill run. These have solid grip imo

Got to try these out. The guide 17s are great shoes imo. They are a bit firmer than my Clifton 9s but definitely the guides are a better shoe for me. The uppers fit great and as they should not too tight around my foot compared to the Clifton’s. The foam feels a lot more durable and little more firm but I have heard as they break in the foam feels a lot better. I have read people have had issues with them being a little slippery on the treadmill I don’t have that issue at all. Great grip. I started out with a light jog at 5.2mph felt great. As I got warmed up I like to end my treadmill runs with intervals at the in run walk off and on 30 seconds for 5 mins. Nothing crazy but just took it up to 10.0mph and they honestly felt better at this speed than at the 5.2 pace. I’m a bigger guy 6ft 4” 300 lbs with flat feet and these can handle a pounding and are perfect for anyone with flat feet. I highly recommend these to anyone. They also feel lighter than the weight that is on the Saucony website.

these aren't stability shoes we got them in store and at first i was slightly disappointed they did the whole max cushioned trend here, but was okay with it because i was under the impression it would be stiffer, high stack height & have a wider base thus being "Supportive" But this shoe is crazy flexible like super flexible you can bend it, flex it.. please don't sell this as a stability shoe its pure neutral... as Neutral as the ride 17.

I really like the guide 15's, I tried the 16's and didn't like it at all. What's different about the 17's?

When it comes to comparing the Saucony Guide 17 to the Saucony Guide 16, the main headline is the switch from HOLLOW-TECH stability to Center Path Technology. We found this change to make the Guide 17 feel smoother and more accommodating to different arch profiles. The Guide 17 has also gained two millimeters in stack height in the forefoot, bringing the heel-to-toe drop up to six millimeters. The lower heel-to-toe drop is something we’ve seen in a lot of shoes recently, and can only speculate on the cause. Some runners find a mid-level heel-to-toe drop (between four and six millimeters) feels much smoother and more natural than a high heel-to-toe drop (between eight and twelve millimeters).

@@fleetfeet699 I do actually, I enjoyed the extra cushioning & fit but felt like my arches still felt fatigued in them. Ive tried inserts and they weren't for me. Any suggestions?

Yes these for great! I have flat feet and these may have been the best fitting shoes I have put on in a while. Glad I went with the guide 17s. Thought about getting a light shoe for interval training but I did interval training in these and had no issue. I’m a bigger guy at 6ft 4 and 300lbs so this is the exact shoe I needed. As much as I would love a pair of the endorphin pro 3 or speed 4s. Thinking about the kinvara 15 when it comes out but I will have to try those on in June when they release but honestly the guide 17 is the perfect weight and light enough for me. I feel like I would wear right through the lighter shoes in just a couple months. But only got a couple runs in the guide 17s and heard the feel a lot Better as you break them in but they felt great right out of the box. I definitely recommend coming from a Clifton 9. Saucony has them a new customer and for future purchases as well

Making a shoe for more people? Just as you alluded to, that already encompasses most shoes in the market. There was zero reasons for Saucony to take their most iconic stability shoe and turn it into something else. This shoe was built for a very specific niche. And it appears that Saucony themselves is now playing games with the stability labeling of the 17. Originally they took the stability label off…even a Saucony rep appeared hesitant to say it would retain this label pre-launch…and now they have tried to put the label back on post-launch. I despise the misinformation around this shoe. This shoe needed to retain a post even if a variant comprised of a different foam density layers in the arch as opposed to hard plastic. Centerpath technology isn’t stability, just marketing. 😢

agreed. they can just keep the Guide and make another line for that centerpath thing. I like the post in saucony 15-16.
