I love the updates to the new Ride. The Kinvara has always been a fun shoe for me as well. The Triumph has just been too much shoe for me but I like the updates to the 18, it’s an improvement on the 17. Also, we shouldn’t forget about the Freedom 3 - that’s a beautiful shoe too. And when the Freedom 4 comes out, it will be the same weight as the Kinvara! I believe the Freedom will get the Powerrun PB foam as well as a lighter upper. Fingers crossed it’s going to be sweeeeeeeeet! Great video, Jordan! Smashed it as always 💪

Jordan Thomas Freedom 4 doesn’t come out until the spring, I believe, but you’ll have to keep your eye on the release date and try a pair.

Jordan. Thanks for the review. It is good to know that you have test-run in them. Right now I’m having my first experience with Saucony (Ride ISO 2). I don’t know the technical aspects of the shoe. But, I got it as my first ever racing shoe. I have about 100 miles in it so far - doing intervals and time-trials. No races in it yet. So, I haven’t formed any opinions about their performance. My trainers are up for replacement (having passed the 570 mile mark). Don’t know what I will replace it with. I may consider the Triumph or Ride that you reviewed in this video.

Nice! Yeah I think either of those could be used as a training shoe. I would look to something more lightweight for a racing shoe.

I'm training for my first half marathon and just picked up the kinvara 11 to replace my beat rincons in my rotation. I have run almost exclusively trails all summer and all in the Saucony mad River tr. I am in love with them. Same heel drop, same stack height as the kinvara but (I think) pwrrun and everrun combo. I'm hoping there's that same dna in the kinvara. Great comparison, because I'll also be replacing my Clifton 6's soon that are about to retire. Looking at Saucony, they are killing it right now.

Nice review! I know it wasn’t discussed here but I think the Endorphin Shift tops these all. It’s just slightly heavier than the the Ride but much less than the Triumph but more cushioned than both. It is a 4 mm drop though so anyone with Achilles issues may need to steer clear.

Returning after a long gap do old Kinvara 8s. Achilles was tight so I added higher drop Nike Epic react Flyknit / Pegasus 37 for easy runs. I much prefer the fit of Saucony. Despite being EVA foam, the Kinvara 8 is in great condition bon 400 miles. Keen to try Saucony with more advanced pbx foams

Cool to hear. The Kinvaras I think are great for shorter efforts, but for most runs out of this lineup I would choose the Triumph.

The best shoe I've run in, in the last 18months is the triumph 17 can't see the 18 being much better.

I thought the same thing, but this version made some notable improvements on the speed side. It’s still not great for faster stuff it’s better than the previous version. If you still are loving the 17, then you can stick with it. However once you’re ready for an upgrade, the 18 will be waiting for you.

I believe so. Didn't really notice any difference in terms of overall fit. If anything the Kinvara offers a snugger fit.

Alexander S I found the sizing to be consistent throughout the brand so you should be good to go.

I took a pair of Peregrines 10 out the box with no miles on them and ran a trail ultra. No discomfort or blisters. As you say they felt broken in on purchase.

my kinvara's lasted 350kms and they were done done. My Triumph 17's have 900kms and they do need to be replaced, but they are still better than the 350km kinvaras were. I'm considering the ride 14s next, but may just go for triumph 19's to complement my endorphin speeds.

Have the Ride 13 myself, and mainly run anywhere between faster 2 mile runs and slower 7/8 milers. I find they feel comfortable for both types of running - but probably more so the longer and slower runs. For that reason I'm thinking of getting some Kinvara 11 for those shorter and faster ones. I will say though that I did try on the Triumph 18 and found it too bulky for my personal liking.

Agree with you on the longer slower runs for the Ride 13! The Kinvara’s are a solid pickup for truly faster runs. I can see your point on the Triumph 18. I got used to them on the last version so I knew what to expect. Thanks for stopping by ✌🏽

Good morning Sir, you said about the Saucony triumph 18 is not good for fast running. I don't know what that means. I run 10 kilometers and it takes around 55min. Don't know if my weight is important for shoe choice. I'm 72KG and 45 years old. Would you recommend Saucony triumph 18 or should I go for a lighter shoe? Thank you so much for a great video!

They are a good shoe for a typical recovery to easy day running. If you intend to do any type of springing, then you will likely want a lighter weight shoe. Hope that helps!

Hi, have you tried the kinvara 11 (not much rubber in the outsole, so it is very different to the triumph that will last lots of miles) or maybe the endorphin speed (for fast runs, at lower pace, legs tired you can overpronate) but is is an excellent shoe fast and lots of energy return (has a nylon plate, not a carbon one). You will probably make your 10K below the 55min. Another one not from saucony that I like a lot is the sketchers Razor 3, very light, has no plate, a very good one. Good luck

I have both the ride and the Triumph, both are fine, but i feel like the ride is a lot less durable overall then the Triumph, the Triumph just keeps on giving

Allow me to clarify, Running anything more than 4-6 miles in a single session would become challenging because of how little cushioning is in the shoe. Hope that helps.

Hi I want a shoe that is going to be very soft and cushioned for all day work . I need it for work at hospital standing walking long hours . Have a lot of forefoot pain . I have a bit of over pronation. But mainly super soft and plush .

I can see your perspective, because of the angles I used. This version subtlety slimmer in the upper and around the midsole of the shoe, however it is slightly heavier, but that’s coming from the rubber in the outsole.
