It's more of a training and tactics issue than material. Not many Muslim countries have adapted to modern warfare (in terms of command structure, discipline, doctrine, etc). Egypt fought Israel multiple times, but the world was much different back then (multipolar). Now a country will be sanctioned to no end. So economic power also plays a role in winning wars today.
