Great gun. Excellent accuracy. However, the dogs where the stars of the show. Very hansome and playful.

cam deskjockey They are something else at times. Today the older one (Emma) is wearing a cone on her head to keep her from messing with her back paw that she scraped while playing with Ben. Should be back to normal in a day or two. Always something with those two. Our four legged children! 🙂

I have this same rifle in 30-06 too. Shoots less than 1.15” in 4 factory loads of 180gr/165gr bullets. My fav is the 165gr GMX in Hornady Superformance and that is what I currently use on elk deer moose black bear etc here in western Canada. I handload 220gr Nos Part though for grizzly defense. The detach mag holds 5 rounds and one in the tube so that is a lot of firepower. The only issue I had was the LOP at 14.25”. I’m 5’8 so I cut the stock down, cut/sanded a 1” insert made of wood, epoxied it in and put on a Pachmyer decelerator.

Great rifle very accurate and nice looking but the real question is?? Can you change the barrel on it or is it a throw away rifle after 1500 rounds? Does that reflect in the price it sells for? That's the real question?

I have a 100xt in .308, gun shoots great until I can’t open the bolt anymore lol after cycling the action 5-8 times the bolt binds up solid whether there’s a cartridge in chamber or not, then after an hour it releases. Any ideas what could cause this?

I like your video. I’m considering this gun, tikka t3x and maybe browning hells canyon. ...Any opinion?
@Snowball0426 жыл бұрын
pathfinderga The Tikka has great reviews and I’ll add one in the future. The one thing I’d say about the Sauer is that it really doesn’t look or feel like an economy rifle. The Tikka has a plastic trigger guard and bottom metal. Not a big deal but if I didn’t know how much the Sauer cost me, I’d think it was much more expensive. Like around $1k. Sculpted receiver, great trigger, actual bottom metal, sturdy stock, great accuracy. It all says quality, not economy.

Thanks. Did you ever get the one in 9.3? I enjoy the 9.3x62 in my Ruger African Rifle. The Ruger is a bit heavier and the recoil isn’t bad at all. More of a heavy shove than anything else.

I wonder what the cost savings is for the manufacturer to use a plastic trigger guard instead of a metal one? Can't be much, and it gives the impression that the gun is cheap.
@Snowball0426 жыл бұрын
somerville99: I was thinking that too. I’d rather spend a few bucks more and have the metal one.
@jmfa575 жыл бұрын
The difference is actually quite a bit if you are talking about a machined trigger guard versus an injection molded plastic part. Even the MIM or cast metal housings cost more than the plastic, but I too would pay more for a more durable product.

How heavy is the recoil of the Sauer in 30-06 ?
@Snowball042 Жыл бұрын
The recoil for the 30-06 in this rifle is softer than most other rifles in this chambering. Other rifles, like the modern Winchester 70 has a superior recoil pad which makes it a soft shooter. The Sauer on the other hand, has a different stock design that helps with recoil. I’d call it a ‘muted’ recoil. The end result is that recoil is surprisingly soft.

@Snowball0424 жыл бұрын
Peter Telford : Arrgg...you would have to follow a comment I disagree about with a “love your dog”. So, thanks for the kind comment about my dog and this was my first outing with the rifle and I had very little time I could spend on the range. Work, family..... So yes, it would be nicer if the groups were centered (that did come later) but that wasn’t the point. ‘It prints small groups’ was and is the point. Ben says thanks too. He is a good boy!
@petertelford49004 жыл бұрын
Sorry mate but I'm excited Australian army the first thing you do when you have a scope on your rifle is zero it so when you make your little video to shoot your groups do it in the bullseye , don't worry you are just like the thousand other guys and girls who are proud of there grouping and not there marksmanship , why not zero get small group in bullseye then more people might watch because you are a good shot , oh fuck that guy gets the bullseye and small group no excuse zero then group .

@Snowball0422 жыл бұрын
No worry’s. What you saw is a function of dealing with shooting from a Lead Sled shooting rest. The back of the rest gets in the way of cycling the bolt normally. I usually palm the bolt which I learned from speed shooting a borrowed Remington 788 in the late 1970’s.
