Many years ago when I was much younger, you played in my mom's bar in Kingman Kansas. I remember helping you move your equipment and explaining what everything was. I even got a signed poster from you guys, I still have it. You have inspired me to pick up an instrument, and because of that, I'm now a bassist. ehh. well Shinedown has always had some soft songs mixed in with heavier songs so all and all not much change there. Papa Roach i will kinda give you, they have certainly change since Last Resort. But then again I have a feeling that you consider anything pop when you can actually understand what they are saying. Also good job at naming a few. Both those bands are a long ways from doing a tour with Taylor Swift. Just because you dont like it doesnt make it pop.

I lost my little brother in February. At 34 years old, he went to sleep and didn't wake up. He left behind a wife and 5 kids, his mother, older brother and sister. I cry when I hear this song. I've been playing your song over and over for the past month now. My son is 3.5 yeas old, and says when we are in the truck, "Dad can you play brother, that's my favorite song." You guys should come to The Original up in Minot, ND and play... On a side note, my brother is mentally and physically challenged in a disability home back in Louisiana, and this song makes e think of him a lot. I'll never stop listening to this song, I'm an only child but my best friend who I've known since i was roughly 5 is like my brother. This song isn't just a song, there is emotion put into this and that's why I love it. I feel it in my chest, I understand the pain and strife, there is a beauty in this song. The perfect balance of sorrow but the release of it in the chorus in the outbursts of chaotic emotions creates a blend of happiness and safety to know you're past the past and into the future.
