Phenomenal. I just found this tonight and I am an R & B lady with no knowledge of Metal… but tears are flooding my face. What an incredible song. I have buried two friends to Suicide and my son who is BiPolar has just barely been saved repeatedly. I will tell him to come watch and listen. There is quite literally nothing more I want on earth than for him to live his life. There is nothing I have not or will not sacrifice to help him stay. May all those in pain, find ease and all those lost rest in peace. 😰🙏🏻

Let your son know he's not alone as for my whole life I've dealt with bi-polar but didn't know what it was till about 10yrs ago, I'm 42. Just tell him even in his darkest moments there is someone who's in need of him and to find the song or songs that help. Everytime I hear this song, I get very emotional. Because it describes the fight of my grandma vs her death. She had a very sad life, she barely survived WW2, she saw her family get killed in front of her eyes and suffered alot in her life, she got beaten up by both of her cheating husbands. In the end she suffered from alzheimer's disease, and she started forgetting everything she knew, except for me. She raised me, because my parents couldn't. I lived about 14 years with her. We always had a great emotional connection. She cared about me and helped me getting my university degree by supporting me financial and emotional. She always said, that she will live as soon as "I can walk alone". Eventhough her disease was very crucial, she never forgot me. She always knew my name and ever ever recognized me. She started stumbeling and forgetting words. But I always knew what she wanted to say. In the last month of her life, my ex-girlfriend left me and my Grandma was waiting for her death. I was crying so hard because of both facts, that my grandma wiped away my tears and said, that I will never be alone. Doctors said, that she would die in a couple of days, but she didn't and I think I know why...because she couldn't let go. She knew that it is not the right time, because it would kill me emotional. SHE KNEW IT. She heard me saying "stay with me". She renewed her powers and got me some time to heal. In this year I got my degree, a job and a car. Everytime I saw her, i told her. Its her work and her outcome and that I love her, never forget her and thanks for the chance she gave me. She started to dismantle and couldn't talk nor move for about 2-3 weeks. That's were I started listen to the song "stay with me" more often. It was a hard emotional struggle. In our last conversation, 2 days before her birthday, she suddenly were clear. She was like the grandma I knew before, the one who raised me. I could talk to her like in the past. I repeated, that I love her, I will never forget her and thank her for all she'd done. I apologized for all fights we had and that nothing of this matters, because I am here with her. She responded, that I was the love of her life, that she started living just in the moment I came into her life, that she had the greatest honor of raising me , that I am "the pure love" and that I never should change the way I am. I never was crying so hard in my life, like in this moment. I hugged her so hard and said to her, that she can leave if she wants, because she leaves something good in this world. That was the last time I spoke to her alive, she died at her birthday. She died 20 Minutes before I came visiting her. You know, what is the most powerful thing? She died at her Birthday, 19.11.2019. Look at the Date this Video was uploaded. At this day I visited her grave and talked to her. I thank you so much, In flames, for that lovely reminder, this great song and for the perpetuation of my grandma. I say this with all the pure love I got. Nor irony, nor sarcasm. All about my grandma was great and it reminds me, that I will never be alone and that I am thankful to be alive. I love you grandma, I will never ever forget you. You were my real mother

For me this song talks about loving yourself. I've lived almost all my life strongly attached to the persons I loved, putting my happiness in their hands. Recently everything became crystal clear and I understood that I was forgetting someone all this time... myself. That happiness is only in me, and I'm the only one who is able to provide it. Only at this point I will be able to share my own happiness to others, basing those relationships, as Buddhism already knows, in disattachment, or what I understand as a safe attachment. So yeah... everytime I hear this amazing song I feel that I'm hearing my own inner voice, my other me who lives and will live with me during an entire life: he is asking me to stay, to love him. Then I embrace his soul, his body, and I forgive myself for letting him alone during all these years. Finally I follow him into the light. Everytime I'm feeling far from that light, far from myself, I watch behind me how close I am to the darkness, so I close my eyes... "Breathe in, breathe out"... I approach again that voice, lending him my hand, and from that point I open again my eyes, now trully wide opened. Thanks ♥ In Flames

At the end of 2020 I'm watching this video over and over again, with tears in my eyes. I still can't believe gigs have been taken away from us and I would give almost everything to stand in a cheering crowd again, with everyone singing every single word of every song and to feel that energy and sense of community that comes along with it. @@canalmultipolartv some folks can't get down with their newer material, and I get that. When 'Reroute to Remain' came out i hated it. After Soundtrack To Your Escape came out I started to identify with their newer sound and have found something t like one every album since. A band can't keep putting out the same record over and over and still be relevant over the course of 20 years. Unless it's BoltThrower. \m/ \m/

@@canalmultipolartv Well any true passioned fan should see their band as one- that despite all the good years and low years combined, a true fan appreciates a band for what they've done, regardless of their modern sound-good or bad it matters none. The truth remains the same, that at one time we fell in love with music that filled holes in us we never knew, and never felt in such a way, and leave us with a reverent sense of appreciation forever onward.

I was in high school. :D I was listening to Whoracle and Colony and Clayman albums but I wasn't really enjoying them probably because my brain wasn't developed enough to understand Swedish melodic death metal lol. Then they released Reroute to Remain, and for some reason that album clicked and I went back to the older albums and suddenly In Flames was one of my favorite bands. This album was released as i was finishing my mandatory army duty and was about to travel away from home to work. This song kept me company through times of deep thoughts about life (away from family and friends). It fit like a glove in a time of transition from boy to man and will always hold a special place in my heart. I still am away from family and friends due to work and covid. I am a fan of the older and more hardcore stuff of this band because it connects me with my friends and memories with them but i confess i might not be ready to listen to this song live without having a breakdown.
