This is quite impressive. I was, for a moment, really feeling that I was there. My wife told me that it would sucks to be outside like this at the place of this raptor. So we can even feel compassion for those virtual beasts! The only thing that I was not sure is that I was expecting much more rain per inch when listening on the sound of thunder and seing so many flashes of light. Maybe this is because all thunder seems to be at a very close distance. There is some distance effect, but not much. So maybe adding even more distant sounds of thunder could fix that. Or maybe put more rain per inch or reduce de number of thunder strike per minute. But feel free to discard that last comment if you want!

DionysusJPower they can't or it would be inaccurate to the lore of the Jurassic park/world universe in which they can only bring back Dino's by mixing their Dna with other creatures so no feathers sadly

Dragonsbane089 They already explained that in supporting ad campaigns for the first Jurassic World that they were finding more pure DNA sources for potentially different dinosaur designs. The film makers just didn't have the balls to challenge the audience so they played it safe. And as for consistency with other films, look at the Stegasaurus from JW and compare it to the on in JP2. They went completely backwards in their depictions.

This looks and sounds amazing! I have loved the concept and aspects of this game for a long time now. I do have one question though: why are there the sound of song birds during a time when birds either didn't exist or would have been much more like their theropod ancestors rather than the extant species?

It has more to do with their recording software; apparently actually playing the game is much clearer than what we're seeing here. Plus, it's dark, misty, and raining.

Thats true but at the same time, the leaf textures standout, they look pretty flat with almost no texture. I'm guessing/ hoping that they've set the texture quality to low to compensate for the frame hit from the recording software.

The current plan is for a minimalistic HUD that only displays things you wouldn't be able to readily tell by looking at your animal's behavior (such as hunger levels or some other internal body signal), and it'll only pop up -- in a manner as subtle as possible -- when there's something you need to be aware of at that moment.

This in particular is a placeholder ambient soundtrack. Hell Creek did not have songbirds. Most of Hell Creek's ambient sounds came from insects like crickets, cicadas, and beetles as well as some birds and amphibians.

stupid question: did dakotoraptor hunt in packs? if so, will there be a hotkey to "invite" a random dakotoraptor to the pack? like a "chirp" or something? and evidence has show that tyrannosaurus rex hunted in "family groups" so, when born will you, be able to stick with a few siblings or parent?

Dakotaraptor did not hunt in packs, packs are a mammalian behavior. It's closest relative deinonychus, which has evidence that it was solitary. There is evidence of tyrannosaurus hunting in "sibling packs", where sibling animals would hunt together until adulthood, and this will be represented in Saurian.

Alixx they have answered alot of stuff on there page, they have answered your exact questions, it is plausible that a dromeasauridae like dakotaraptor could hunt in packs, but for the game there stating it'll be more like a cougar, granted i guess that is a little miss leading as they said they will form unorganized mobs, nothing coordinated like stalking and all that they say think more komodo dragon. They also stated that as babies t.rex will stat with their parents, once there juveniles they will stay together usually making a pack of 2 or 3, once they reach an early form of adult hood they will split on their own and find and occupy new territory

This is probably more cosmetic. There will be weather events added later on that will more directly impact the environment and gameplay.

That'll be a very long way off if it ever happens at all. Pretty much reliant on sales at this point, since console conversion (especially for the consoles they're going for, Xbox One and PS4) is really expensive.
