This week we have a special guest with us! Our Social Media Specialist, Shannon! She is helping Vinnie this week with her special recipe of Sausage and Cream Cheese Pinwheels. You guys are gonna love it
Sausage and Cream Cheese Pinwheels
Ingredients:
1 Sausage Roll (16oz)
1 Pack of Cream Cheese (8oz)
Pepper Jelly to Taste
2 Rolls of Crescent Rolls
Directions:
1) Take the sausage out and brown it and then drain it.
2) Take the room temperature cream cheese and mix it into the sausage until it is fully melted and creamy.
3) Then mix in the Pepper Jelly until it has reached peak spiciness.
4) Roll out 1 Crescent Roll Sheet and spread half of the meat mixture out flat on it evenly. Then roll it up tight and seal it.
5) Then take a serrated knife and cut half inch pinwheels out until there is no more left.
6) Preheat oven to 375 and when preheated, put the pinwheels in for 14 minutes. WATCH THEM BECAUSE THE PEPPER JELLY WILL BURN THE BOTTOMS VERY EASILY
7) Take them out and Enjoy!

OMG LOL.....That was so cute.....Maymay a.k.a.Sneaky Pete....made a guest appearance!! OMG they look so goood....really purdy to look at too!! Thanks for the recipe! I doubled it and my grandkids and family loved it. It’s important to make sure the crescent sheet is very chilled and I will probably reduce the cream cheese a little if I double it again. I used mild sausage and pepper jelly with Tabasco. Yummy!!!

I love pepper jelly and toasted French bread. I use to make pepper jelly when I had my home and garden. Tell May May to have a wonderful blessed Mothers day.✌👍💖🎠

I've seen others use a string or thread to "cut" the dough. Just put the string underneath and bring to top and pull across to cut then move to next piece. That might help those who are having problems cutting these. Looks good!

dental floss would work, but it does need to be COLD. That dough is very pliable and the warmer it is when you cut it, the mushier it can get. Also, use a sharp knife in the kitchen. Makes all the difference in the world - and will avoid injuries.

If you use a silver color cooking sheet it helps to keep them from browning to much. The darker your sheets the more likely the darker the crust or bottom or whatever you got. Just a little tip.

A great combination 🙂 Jelly rolls are good for many combinations. We've done canned tuna in water spread in the inside. Then make broccoli for a side and a cheese sauce for the top of both. Also depending on your location you can find the refrigerator dough in actual dough sheets. That way you don't have pinch the perforations together. Thanks for sharing this variation 🙂

I've seen these made with shredded cheddar, but not the pepper jelly. Makes an interesting twist to it.

These look delicious! I have to eat gluten free, so will try to figure out a way to make my own crescent roll sheet! Wish they'd make those canned doughs gluten free too!

I’m wondering if lining the sheet pan with parchment would help. It may not prevent the pepper jelly from burning, I guess. But cleanup would be easier.

To cut roll use dental floss. Slide the floss under the roll , bring it up to the top , cross over and pull. I have used this method for years when rolls need to be cut. ( Cinnamon rolls, chocolate log, pumpkin rolls, cookie dough.) This keeps the slice round.

Yummy! My step daughter makes these but her recipe is very labor intensive. I'm going to put her to shame. Thanks for the recipe Shannon & Vinny. That was a big ol' brick of cream cheese 😂 I have never seen crescent rolls actually in a sheet like that. I'm gonna have to shop around. God bless you all ❤ XOXO

Jodi Hoesel at Walmart I am pretty sure it is in the Jelly isle. I normally use Braswell’s Red Pepper Jelly.
