Sausage gravy
1 pound breakfast sausage, hot or mild
1/3 cup flour all purpose or self rising doesn’t matter
3 to 4 cups milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Cook sausage in skillet don’t drain any grease add 1/3 cup flour to the cooked sausage and mix it real good and cook for a couple of minutes, stir in about 2 cups milk to begin with, stir it constantly until it thickens add more milk to get it to the thickness you like , add salt and pepper. It will thicken up more when you take it off the heat.

A retired firefighter from WMFD in West Memphis, AR. I moved to the sunshine state a couple of years ago and we love it in Florida. I enjoy cooking and I usually did the cooking at the fire stations, mainly because the cook didn't have to clean up, lol. Most of the recipes I shared on here I've cooked at the station. Thank you Mr Gary, I made your gravy this morning and it was a hit, I didn’t have any biscuits so I made toast and it was delicious my kids loved it. thanks again

Hey Gary, Awesome great job it does look delicious. I could never get my gravy to turn out as Mom or my sisters do. It's always so-so. You know what I mean. Your way looks a lot easier & better. Did not have to make the rue. How long do you cook it? At what temperature was the stove? Did the extra milk make it thinner or thicker? I guess these are dumb questions but I'd like to know. Many thumbs up to your video & gravy. Stay well & safe.

Thanks Tommy, the stove was on med heat, if it start bubbling turn it down a little, you have to keep stirring constantly, so it won’t scorch the bottom, after I added the milk it probably took 10 mins, you want it a little runny because after you take it off the stove it will thicken up some more, if it gets to thick add s little more milk. Hope you are doing ok.it’s been hot here in Florida. It’s 9 pm and still 100 degree heat index.

@@easycookingwithgary Thanks for replying to my post. Yes, it can get hot in Florida. I use to live near Daytona back in the late 70s and early 80s. I have wished I had stayed in Fl over the years. What part of FL are you near? I will try your recipe real soon. Take care.
