Savage 24C for Yukon small game?

I like my 24DLX alot too! Its well regulated and 22mag is a laser beam from 24" barrel.

I never warmed up to the 410 but mine had a full choke which never quite worked as well for me.

@@north61 I had a love hate with the 410. Until I looked at it differently. Its a "RIFLE" that throws nice shot loads. So Squirrel on a limb or Cottontail in the bush... Mot a good wing shooting proposition. It also seriously lacks in slugs. Breneke is only half decent but double/triple cost of std slug. Even then only good for larger small game. But Hell on Squirrel & Bunnie!! Mines also VERY well regulated. My "c" was worse than yours. 12" outside LR POA!!

I bought this same firearm at Sears, in Dallas. I carried in my truck, in its case for years. It was a great rabbit and squirrel gun. I took a deer with a slug at 20 yards at the farm. I sold it at an Arkansas gun show in 1980. Wish I still had it. I am thinking I would like to have another in 12 gauge with choke tubes and 22 magnum.

That was my second firearm at age 13, and I had paid for it with lawn mowing money. I don’t remember hunting anything with it outside of quail a few times ( the 20 gauge wasn’t accurate enough for fast flying quail), but for plinking cans and bottles, it was a go to as the .22 LR was fairly accurate I remember.

Yes, Sir, for sure, I will work on Black Bear. My wife has a Turkish semi, in 3/4" 20 guage that does the job well at 30 yards.

I have a 222 over 20 gauge with “checkered” stock. It probably hasn’t been in the field in 15 or 20 years. I used to use it for small game and turkey in the fall season in Pennsylvania.

Thats one of my alltime fav 24's!! Lighter then my 223/20 so I sold it. Plus this 222 is a LASER with jacket AMD my cast! Making it super versatile. I have a Leupold 1-4 on mine. Surprisingly 1x is pretty easy hitting clays or partridge flying. Best part is weight its light!

Had one in 22lr over 20ga but sold it a few years ago. Yes they are good for grouse and other small critters.

I have same fiream. Could you please provide deails of your replacement rear sights. Windage with 22LR wasquite off . Front sight onthis model are not drift adjutable. Does your rear sight have windage adjustable features? cheers!

It is a HIVIZ fiber optic sight. I bought it as the original sight needed to be drifted so far to one side in the dovetail that it eas loose and wouldnt stay put. the hiviz sight has a winage feature that allows for windage on the sight with the sight itsel staying centred on the dovetail. I got it at Amazon,CA

I always liked the original 22/410 even the one from the mid or late 1940’s with the plastic stock but never managed to acquire one. I prefer the top lever versions. Personal preference but just don’t care for the side levers. I suppose that comes from being an old SxS and O/U shotgun shooter. Happy hunting boys and girls!😊

Thought about one for a while, but came to the conclusion that I would be better served with a pump 12 guage. But it's a cool gun.

All but this C was "3" IIRC. I know Camper was only shotgun NOT full choked. Plus shorter barrels then rest. That gun in 22Mag/20g would have been my favorite.
