Love seeing your targets with multiple 5-shot groups. That really helps illustrate the overall variability for each ammo. After watching your videos I've been shooting the NRL22 1.5" targets as a benchmark to compare different ammo for each rifle and I agree that you don't need 25 rounds to prep/foul/season the barrel for that ammo. I know you had a less-than-great experience with the CZ457 and that is unfortunate - mine will shoot 4 different readily-available ammo with consistent sub-MOA accuracy at 50 yards. My RPRR not so much... Would love to see your targets downrange sometime. Keep up the great work and looking forward to your next video!

glad yours shoots well. i will have and have never knocked cz at all mine just didn't shoot well. as far as future videos i'm going to take the bergara, the tikka, the b22, and my christensen arms ranger when it comes in and do a 100 yard test with the ammo they all shoot best.

Of course, like everyone else, I'm finding it's a choice between this, the Ruger, a CZ with added stock/chassis or TX1 with added stock/chassis. Your videos are very helpful. i have a B22 fv and it took about 400 rd s to really smooth out and start getting .750 groups at 50 yds . the best ammo i have tried is CCI standard .

I need a cheek rest for my Grandson's 64 precision, I have tried several cheek rests and rings but they are too low of too high for him, he is only 5 but shoots straight just like Gramps! the ones that comes with the B22 precision can be adapted easily, I contacted MDT and Savage but I know is a slim chance even if they have them by the thousands in stock. 😅🤣😂👍

Corey: I am still dancing around buying either the Tikka or that Bergara.. I agree that the action is smoother in the Tikka, and I like the bolt angle of throw better on the Tikka.... If you don’t mind shelling out more for the B14R, go for it. At 50 yds, mine was shooting a jagged hole first time out at the range. The group tightened up at 100 on my second time out and that day was windy. The B14R sells for twice the price of this Savage where I live, but you get what you pay for.

Corey D are you getting scratched bullets when you chamber a round? My bullets have a faint scratch from riding the bolt back and forth. Could possibly cause accuracy issues.

Its So nice to see your reply :) I got ruger precision rimfire because that's the first gun dealer showed to me and that is my first gun. It shoots well. The only thing I wish I would have known is the handguard. If I use bigger scope, the scope is nearly touching the upper section of handguard. Savage B22 does not have upper section for handguard which is nice. I have a question for you. Did you upload a video on ammo comparison of ruger precision before you swapped barrel? I appreciate all of your videos! they are so well organized and straight to the point!

11 pound trigger pull?..., NOT! The orange trigger blade designates the trigger as TARGET grade.., and bud it IS! Put a digital trigger gauge on mine and FROM THE FACTORY it pulled 1.25#. First 5 times I fired it the detonation surprised the s**t out of me! I've been shooting for 53 years and this factory package impressed me more than ANYTHING I've squeezed prior. Another thing I observed in your setup is the ring height is excessive for the optic's objective bell. This comment came at 1:39 of 14:03. Let's see if I've got anything else to say.......

Another great video. Love it. You can never go wrong with cci standard velocity. I haven't seen you shoot a 22 that hated it I don't think. At least not too bad. The remington ammo surprised me. Didn't see that one coming. I see it at my local stores but never picked it up. I'll have to give that a try now. You have so many 22lr rifles. it really does shoot so well. a tad ugly IMO and the mags are absolute trash. they take the same ones as the a22 and i got two new ones. neither of them would feed worth a damn.

if you put a single stack on it then its no good for NRL22---you cant easily set the gun atop some of the props, like the ladder, tank trap and so on...the magazine was picked because it can sit flush and on top of any prop easily. Thats why it was designed as such...I've had no "woosy" moments loading 5 mags in 2 minutes

I've had nothing BUT trouble with Savage "single stack" or Mkll/93 mags. Constantly have to bend the feed lips to get them to retain and feed ammo correctly. Complete crap!

Im with ya on the savage stuff. My FV-SR is a true shooter. Set zero on ammo to scope and punch holes in those dots all day. It does really like the 1200 fps stuff. Action looks the same as the FV-SR. Just a stock thing. I also have the Rugar RPRR. No fast ammo in that guy will do well. Has to be 1070 to 1100 for some reason. Anyway.....thanks Corey. Targets tell it all. Thats the magic.

im not sure what others are seeing about fte but this one wasn't really an issue. only problem i see with the mag is when you chamber a round it marks up the round. in this one it was just slightly but i've seen in others it marks it up a good bit, enough to mess with accuracy.

NRL22 is very popular & PRS has apparently died out where I just moved. Any thoughts about the Savage B22, A22, CZ 45#, Tikka t1x & Bergara? That's what everyone here is running for the $1050 MSRP rifle+scope base class. In a way I think the concept of NRL22 is self defeating. It's not cheap... These guys are shooting very expensive Lapua, Eley & SK ammo that's as expensive as my 6mm Dasher hand loads at the end of the day LoL! They're just saving on some barrel life.

You don’t need the level of precision for NRL22 base class. The targets aren’t that far or small on most matches. CZ, Tikka, or Savage with $7 a box ammo shoots better than most marksman can. The equipment sure helps but not as much as skill. The difference between a Voodoo and a factory Tikka isn’t as much as a 8 mph wind a 100 yards for 22lr.

good question and i have seen where more than a few have said theirs scars the round. WITH CCI STANDARD VELOCITY this one does not. a few types of other it has a very light scrape. nothing that would impede accuracy. i have seen pics of some pretty big chunks though.

the rifle i just bought got all the ammo testing done probably just to get a video together today. bergara b14r with a carbon fiber barrel. shoots in the .3s at 50 and .4s at 100 yards. its vudoo quality for half the price but if youre on a budget get the b22 or tikka t1x

You may find this interesting, but please note some limitations here such as the number of groups making up the averages and not having the exact same ammo between guns make it a bit shaky, but still I've seen worse published in academic journals, lol. I used data from 4x videos: Modified carbon barrel Bergara (high wind!), the stock carbon barrel Bergara, steel barrel Bergara, and the Savage. I ran these 4 combinations of these variables for calculating the t.tests: 1-tailed distribution, 2-tailed distribution, two-sample equal variance, two-sample unequal variance. Who cares...blahblah...the ONLY significant tests (we will use p

You know what....same story with the Tikka...at 50 yards they all statistically perform pretty much the same. I think they may start differentiating from each other at longer distances (100, 200, 300) and would be a better indication of how they truly stack up against one another and where the $$$ for performance comes into play.

I do not see how one can justify the price for that rifle. Not much precision if you have to pick and chose whatever your rifle likes best. I have a cheap Savage 64. Groups are about the same at 50 yards with different types of ammo. Best is CCI standard velocity.

Two years later comments on your video, here is why I gave a thumbs down, I didn't you firing the rifle, so showing only a paper target results ok for some guys, I like to see how the shooter shoots are what I need to see; it's all about learning the fundamentals of shooting. After many viewings of the different videos of different shooters, the intrigue the excitement. I purchased a RAR 18” barrel. The factory trigger is just barely good; the transformation: trigger gone, the bolt handle gone, and the factory-installed base gone. From fifty yards five shots groups: .40”, .60”, .42” average.47 with CCI/SV. At 100 yds, with Norma Tac-22 group size: four rounds @250” fifth-round @.660”. Installed Timney Trigger set @ 1.5 pounds.
