Six-Spotted Tiger Beetles are super common in my area (Texas, down by Houston) once I catch one I’ll start showcasing them, and their home 😁
@michaeldavid62843 ай бұрын
Yep, used to try and catch them when I was a kid in Texas. They're much quicker than the ones is this vid, and would alternate between running and flying for short distances.

Hey, nice video. Could you please share the caresheet for these beetles?
@malachimize68142 жыл бұрын
Just letting you know they weren't immediately digging they were trying to hydrate themselves by biting the wet soil.

Very nice reminds me when i had some ground beetle larva with those teefs lol also it could have been having a drink from the wet sand maybe instead of just digging looked that way to me keep up the good work :)

I don't think they were digging.. I think they were thirsty and was drinking the water from the sand. And the 1st was trying to drink the water drops on the side I bet if u added water bowl then they would drink. Thanks for the video it was great they r beautiful
@kevinpoe81374 жыл бұрын
I have these in my backyard, the pan-american bigheaded tiger beetle, nevermind after further research it would appear I mistook them for their cousin lol 😂, also it’s not digging that’s how they drink
@OldChannelBugRealms4 жыл бұрын

Not out of the realms of possibility that those could be bred in captivity bud. Tiger Beetles don't have too specific requirements, bar potential time as a larvae and maybe subtleties of the substrate...Many species have larvae that burrow a lot like Ant-Lions. Hope you or Tony have some unexpected success somewhere anyway :).

Thanks dude. I've been informed mine are both F but that's ok, I'm Hoping some of the others may have some males for future projects
