The precision of the Model 12 is already top-notch, and adding that ARKEN scope seems like a game-changer for long-range shooting.

The 6.5-284 Norma finally getting some love. IMO the best 6.5 out there, and it has a bit more energy than the 6.5CM at 800-900yds. A bit difficult to find factory ammo for though. That Nosler ammo is over $100 locally. Velocity of 2900-2950 is pretty standard, but you can get over 3000 fairly easily handloading. The cartridge likes Retumbo powder with 140 grain boolats.

It’s not a hunting rifle, it’s a competition rifle. You need a special rest to use while shooting in the competitions. It’s easy to spend $2,000 on just a rest that doesn’t include the bags.

If you wanna know what torque value to use, you can usually get the best idea by looking at the fasteners torque spec for that size screw or bolt. Usually they are pretty standard, unless it’s a one use torque to yield fastener..

Ron Spomer argued that the 6.5-284 Norma was the ultimate deer cartridge. That rifle is a bit heavy and long to tote into the deer woods, but it might work in a tower stand in W Texas
@gavincline209Ай бұрын
Crazy as it is, dropping that trigger down to 1lb or so would definitely help ya out. Plus off an un stable bag…that’s impressive for sure. With that flat surface it has, get a flat 4x4 and some shims from store. Level it up and see just how good you can get with a truly flat and stable surface. I’d bet .4” would be a big group at that point.

They are stellar scopes. I have been changing all my scopes over to them. Way clear and bright in my opinion than US optics, vortex, Leopold, or Schmidt & Bender. And that says a lot. And I personally haven't had any problems with the tracking when shooting long range. I have my Brothers buying them as well. We have a 50 BMG that bc we shoot out to 2000 yards and haven't had any problems with the lens or tracking. For the price you can't go wrong. Their warranty is also awesome. Buy one you won't regret it... Happy shooting...😊

Just wait until you start handloading for that one. I need to figure out timing to get to Tolliver's. I can drop off some Lapua once fired brass for you. I have 400 new Lapua pieces, haven't even opened the box yet and about 300 pieces of new Norma as well. So I have plenty. I read a comment that Ron Spomer indicated this is the ultimate deer cartridge. That's been my experience. I've only killed about 8 deer with this cartridge using 130 Nosler Accubonds, 140 Berger VLDs, and 127 Barnes LRX. But all deer dropped on the spot no matter the distance, angle or POI. I'm using Reloder 19, H1000, and Retumbo.
