101st Division was a reserve command HQ in Milwaukie 1920-1942, converted to airborne 1942. They adopted the Wisconsin NG symbol from the Civil War - the Screaming Eagle.

With the Airborne surrounded and outnumber, the Germans approached with a chance to surrender to which the American commander responded with his famous statement "Nuts".

I think it’s their newer videos that have the little snippet at the end. Some of their videos have the snippet of history during their lyric videos during the guitar solo too, so keep a watch out for those. I recommend Attack of the Dead Men, lyric video, next. To be honest though, there is literally no bad Sabaton song. If you go to their website they have a short blurb about what each song is about, and I think that’s actually worth reading before you do your reaction. I think the songs are more meaningful when you understand what they’re about as you react. They also have a history channel, Sabaton History, where they explain in great detail the history behind each song. Recommended watching!

I helped stand up the A Battery 4/320 Feild Artillery 506th Brigade Combat Team 101 Air Assault again back in 05. Elements of Patton's 3rd Army reached Bastogne on 26 Dec 44 "rescuing" defenders. Thing was the weather cleared on the 27th allowing resupply by air drop. And after "NUTS!" what's the best 101 quote? "We didn't need to be fucking rescued by Patton!" (Joe Toye)

The Screaming Eagles are the 101st Airborne Division, this is the true story of the Battle of Bastogne where the 101st Airborne Division and a US Armed Brigade of Tanks where surrounded by a Nazi German Army, a huge force of Nazi German Tanks, also Field Artillery and other weapons. The American units fought off this huge Nazi Force that outnumbered the Americans but the soldiers of the 101st Airborne and the Armed Division held on to Bastogne until Relieved by a complete American Army and columns of Sherman Tanks and other weapons. It was the last ever push by the Nazi's to win territory and to sue for peace. The Nazi's were running out of Petrol and Oil. British Sabaton Fan 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Or of course a Screaming Eagle could just be a bird of prey sitting in it's eeyrie watching a particularly scary horror movie.

Funny reaction! So, they've grabbed a niche, doing metal songs about war, and I guess it's kinda cool, but if you just take the music on its own, I don't think they have the chops of the really good metal bands. Biggest claim to fame is their drummer is married to Floor Jansen. That's pretty dope!
