Vaughn, I have this rifle in 223 and have about 40 rnds thru it. Looking at bore thru a scope. I see rings going full circle across lands and groove in a close regular pattern from throat to muzzle. I can only assume this is chatter in the button rifling. Is this normal? Thanks

That dirty grit you see on the trigger and sear is not because of machine and not because it’s not clean it’s molybdenum we use to lube the spot where the seat and trigger slide. I’m a builder at savage.

Hey Vaughn, when removing the trigger assembly I managed to let the small retention spring fly out and cannot for the life of me find it. Can I buy a replacement spring online somewhere??

How the hell does that bolt come out? I have tried everything. Yes, I am pulling the trigger all the way back and the bolt release on the bottom in front of the trigger guard. I have taken many bolts out, but this one is killing me.

My mistake on the 6.5x284 Norma suggestion! Go with the 6.5 Creedmoor. The 6.5x284 Norma is for the long action 110 where long bullets and long OAL work best.

If you’re not keeping the barrel, why not buy an unbarreled receiver and bolt from the get go? I swear I have seen savage short action recievers with accutrigger and bolt on brownells for less than the 12 fv.

jim jim unfortunately you can’t buy the action for the 12. Cabela’s often has these on sale for $319, less than you can buy an action for.
