@@houndoomdarkrai8926 It's a technicality in this situation, though it's damn annoying because someone has to go get the ball halfway across the stadium. You aren't allowed to kick a loose ball as the intent is for players to dive and recover with your hands in a scrum. Kicking the ball means you can kick it to somewhere else to gain advantage in recovery. On a punt, the ball is dead once someone touches it, but the penalty by rule is enforced because they kicked it instead of touched it with hands or inadvertently with another body part. Refs gotta call the rules.

Makes you scratch your head and think what are the rarest penalties and if its possible there are some none of us have ever seen, they may be in the books but its never happened yet. Looks like you've got a potential video series Savage, awesome work.

I have one of those in part 2, I had to use a very old college clip for it since it has never happened in the NFL before (or maybe it has, the play by play for Colts v Chargers 1996 says that one happened in the first quarter. I can't find video of this game so I cannot confirm)

There is one very crazy rule in UFC, i know we're talking about penalties but just wait till you hear this. In the UFC they actually have a rule that says "you're not allowed to trash talk in the middle of the fight". They never implement the rule cause people trash talk no matter what sport you're in, but it actually happened once and of course it was their worse referee who tried to enforce the rule.

theres a few. Theres the palpably unfair act that basically allows refs to fix an unfair act like say a coach tackling a player who is about to score a TD. then theres the extraordinarily unfair act, which gives the commissioner power to even overturn games if necessary if something insane happens. Anotjer one is goaltending, i dont believe it's ever been called, just added in casesomeone tried it

One I have only seen 1x in my life. 2003, Monday Night football, Colts were overcoming a historic 21 point 4th quarter deficit, Simeon Rice was called for "Leaping." Tried to block a FG by using a plyer in front of him as leverage to jump. The kick was no good, Colts got a second try and won the game!!!!!

@@asolom39 back then you were allowed to jump over the line as long as you didn't use anyone's back as a sort of launching pad. When Wagner jumped the line to block the FG, he didn't touch anyone & wasn't offsides so it wasn't technically illegal. I think it's been removed entirely now, but unsure.
@Mike_Takumi
@Mike_Takumi 2 жыл бұрын
Not removed entirely technically, you just can't do it over the center, or use/touch another player to elevate. The rest of the o-line is in a stance taller than the center which is both much harder to leap, and also they can see/react to it faster, this does functionally mean it's not feasible anymore.
