Cassie is pretty pointless and was added for diversity purposes but the only thing is it didn't really work. They could have written her in a different way since it's pretty unbelivable that she was supposed to also be "besties" with them but yet she was never mentioned. It doesn't help that the actress isn't that good either. They wanted Garcelle Beauvais for this role but she had already signed on to do the Jamie Foxx Show . Ironically Garcelle's character was also added to the Spelling show Models Inc for the same reason but the only different was the character actually had a point and fit right in with the rest of the characters.

Diversity is great. Of course the story should be foremost. I agree that the backstory doesn't work. Nevertheless I really like the Cassie character and the actress portraying her. Just my opinion.
