Great job with the videos! We lived in a very nice, safe area in Richmond Hill but it seemed old school and not at all diverse. We love living in this rural Savannah area! Old people, young people, children. Very family friendly, no HOA, several churches in walking distance, close to city with a short drive. Friendly neighbors. Mostly older homes but some brand new. Schools very close too.

I left Savannah in 2012 and currently reside in metro Atlanta. But my heart is always in the Coastal Empire and always heartbroken when I leave after visiting relatives. I'm interested in finding an empty lot in the city that's reasonably priced.

there are some lots available for sure.. I don't know what a reasonable price means to you though, that statement is different for everyone I've talked to... if you let me know a price range I could send you what's available or find you something off market

I'm currently living in Colorado Springs, planning to move to Georgia! I'll be calling you when I get to that point😂(hopefully within the year) Yes Colorado Springs is definitely a military town, as soon as you get to know someone, make a friend, they move it's hard to live like that constantly feeling like you have no friends in Colorado Springs plus I'm so tired of the cold! Real estate here is very high, it's all relative I guess but it's high compared to Savannah and surrounding areas. I've watched several of your videos and appreciate the Content, but I would like to know more about property taxes, the cost of homeowner insurance, examples of “if I were to buy this house here's the total payment assuming 20% down”, although I'll be putting more than 40% down! Property taxes and homeowners Insurance on the east Coast due to the water and the weather seem to be a lot higher so those things are important to me. Also could you include some information on healthcare, nearby hospitals and doctors offices stuff like that, that's important to me and a lot of others ~thank you so much for all your hard work🎉 I can't wait to have a change in my life! Also, I haven't watched enough of your videos to know if you actually take people on walk-throughs so we can see what the house inside looks like, property taxes on the house, Home owner insurance on the house total payment of the house that you're walking us through. That would be super helpful! I watch another channel and he does that and it's not only fun to see the inside of the house but also know the total cost involved:)

@@livinginsavannahThere are homes just outside of Savannah with acreage. We live off the Chatham parkway, in the county. We love it! Five acres, an older home, with a mix of housing styles. You can sit on the porch and greet people walking or biking or stay in the back. This house as really heavy wood beams and is solid! I love these older homes and neighborhoods! Minutes from restaurants, stores. Which is nice, having grown up Navy. Yes, my first 14 years primarily in San Diego! Husband retired so we’ll miss this home of nearly 30 years. Moving to our family home in a tiny town an hour away. Must be desirable because people come up and say they’re looking for a house in this area. We won’t be ready to leave or show for a few months until we replace our appliances and roof. And move all our stuff! Several garages and a well house take time to clear out!

Since you said you were visiting, they may have thought your Chatham license plate was on a rental car. How's the hurricane danger there, as well as the non-hurricane (like with thunderstorms) flooding danger there? Also, is all of Savannah's restaurant scene essentially just on River Street? What's so good about actually living there, once you l've gotten used to the history and other touristy attractions? I'm a 75yo retiree, btw. Is it politically and religiously conservative there (I'm not)?
@livinginsavannah

There’s always risk of hurricane in the east coast. Savannah included. There are hundreds of restaurants all over savannah & Pooler, and Tybee Island. After getting used to living here I’m sure you’ll have to drive a few yours and explore other areas. Everyone gets bored of the same places eventually. Some people just take longer to get bored of them

well, 15 min driving is a lot in terms of housing, neighborhoods, and lifestyle. Imagine driving 15 minutes in New York City. You could be at a penthouse in Central Park, or you could be in Harlem at the projects. so Yes, it matters to everyone.

in my opinion, coming from me living in Guyton, Savannah is dead. Pooler is the new Savannah. I have been in Guyton on and off since 2001, moved from VA Beach after my dad retired. I remember when Pooler PKWY was all woods and only had the Walmart and a hand full of places to eat at 95. would you believe that Pooler PKWY only stretched from the airport to HWY 80 at one point? LoL! I stay out of Savannah now due to the crime level and the traffic. honestly the crime and traffic is now in Pooler if you look hard enough, there is a reason why you do not hear about it. unfortunately it has made its way out this way as well in Effingham which has its own explanation. it will not get any better if they continue to build neighborhoods and warehouses out here in Effingham and West Chatham Co. with the Hyundai Metaplant going up in Bryan Co off of 16 traffic is only going to continue to get worse. I do not know if you have driven from Savannah to Effingham or Pooler during rush hour, but what normally takes 30 minutes or so takes sometimes up to 2 hours to get home. I can keep going, but my post will end up being a book. may want to be more realistic when it comes to the downsides of living here, I have talked to several people when I was delivering pizza and they regret moving here due to them not knowing the truth about the area beforehand because their realtor never mentioned it. which I mean I get it, that is what you guys have to do to make a living. I have not even mentioned the issues with port traffic and those areas to stay away from. people moving here from out of state just need to understand that this is an industrial city, a port city. I think that is what everyone is misinformed about. it comes with pro’s and a good bit of con’s if you are not used to a port city. the city of Savannah, Pooler, and Effingham Co also have failed us miserably. with everything going on the infrastructure has failed. the roads here are not designed to accommodate the population here. west Chatham and Effingham is growing at a rapid rate and the counties are sitting on plans to improve the infrastructure, they have plenty of money but a poor planning committee. just my .02 on this area

We (realtors) don’t have to do that to make a living. I make a very good Living, by being honest with everyone through my content and conversations. there is a ton of straight forward and open realtors out there… it’s like in any other profession that exist you have the good ones and the bad ones. Also everything you mentioned is a matter of perspective and taste. The same thing you hear someone complain about is the same exact thing someone else loves about the area.
