We are heading there tomorrow. We will be in site 26 for a couple of nights and then move to site 1. We have figured out that to stay in the parks we want for the amount of time we want sometimes we have to move sites. We stayed at Ft. McAllister during New Years and loved it, even though it was mighty cold and windy! Thanks for doing the tour!

Awesome! Yes, it is true. Sometimes you just have to move sites if you want to be somewhere for a certain length of time. We affectionately refer to having to move sites as "musical sites". We've had to move as many as three sites before, but usually, it's just two sites, one move. We liked Ft. McAllister, too. Nice park. Happy camping! Enjoy your trip. 😊👋

Thank you, we appreciate the comment. We're from Florida, too, so we know the heat! Have a great trip and in the meantime, stay cool. 😊👋

We love Savannah and have been several times... We like to walk the squares and River Street. We were at Skidaway last 4th of July. We did not book till last minute and only got a cancellation for site 64 (30a\W) but it was fine. Another trip, we splurged and stayed at CreekFire RV Resort which was very nice. Whenever we are in GA, we hit up several GA State Parks. We buy the Parking Pass. There is a senior discount that applies to the pass purchase itself as well as camping fees for the year. The best deal is to get one of the GA State Park Supporter bundles which discounts the Parking Pass bundled with the Historical Sites pass at a dicount and the senior discount reduces it even further. How the senior discount works is a little cumberome... You make your reservation on Georgia's Reserve America site and pay the full price. When checking in you request the discount and it is credited back to your card. This is different than other states' that utilize Reserve America in that they may provide the discount up front. I guess GA wants to ensure the senior is the actual camper 😊

Thank you for explaining Georgia State Parks and their Senior Discounts. 👍You are right about not receiving the discount until check-in. You can easily miss out on that discount if you pay in full and don't follow up at check-in. Georgia is the only state that we've experienced that, but we are thankful for the discount. 😊👋

Yes, we agree. We love the large, scenic sites and most are pull-throughs! Happy travels! 😊👋

We were a couple of sites down from you in site 25 in the red and white Aliner Ascape. Never saw y'all out and around to say hello. But it was raining quite a bit that week.

It needs a bit of updating.

It wasn't as bad as some we've seen. It seems like some state parks are what we like to call "rustic". 😆 Happy travels! 😊👋

Thank you. I'll check it out. It sounded fine when uploaded, but you know, technology happens. 🙄
