Earlier last century there was a whole network of railways there, such as Mt Garnet, Mt Mulligan, Mt Molloy and I think Irvinebank. I was lucky to be able to travel to Chillagoe and Mungana, the other branch from Almaden. (sometimes called Alma-Den).

once i sorta went on one of these but it was a steam train and when we got to the turn table far down the track a tree fell onto the track so we got stuck for a while!
