After a year of getting acrylics at the salon, I bought the gellike gel nail tip kit, a £20 melody susie nail drill, a uv/led lamp and a bunch of beetles polishes to do my own nails at home. I got some other stuff too like gel liner brushes and chrome powders etc. all in all I spent around £200 total but considering I was averaging around £45 a month for each appointment at the salon, this will def save me money in the long run. I’ve done two sets so far and I love it! I can do exactly the design I want and perfect it to my taste. Still takes me about 4 hours to do a full set but I think I’ll get faster with more practice. Your videos were def a factor in convincing me to give it a go and I’m never setting foot in a nail salon again, except maybe for my wedding if I ever get married lol.

I've said this EXACT same thing on another post. Back when I used to pay for nails it would be $20 to get a set.(lol makes me sound so old im like 33) Anyway I was considering doing my own or going to a salon so I recently asked my sis how much she paid & she said $50/set I was shocked 😲 lol. That solidified my decision to buy a kit and start doing it myself $50 bucks every two weeks probably not counting designs this ish would get too rich for my purse honey. So 💯 Agreed with everyone else here Evie and a few other YT peeps definitely helped me make the transition to doing my own.

another tip for making the cuticle area look better and lift less is to not push the nail all the way to the cuticle. i leave maybe like a millimeter or half a millimeter away from my cuticle and fill that space with builder gel. I tried to file the cuticle area of the fake nail with my efile or a hand file but it just never got rid of that little ridge you get as they grow out that gets caught on everything. the gap and builder gel works so much better for me

I got the beetles one and it works well, but I used the nail clips to keep the nails pressed down and I've had no more problems... Love your videos!

Hey girl, love your videos...for the melody susie lamp u press the top button on the lamp to turn it into LED lamp, so u can cure the nail... it is 2 in 1, the instructions will tell you 🥰🥰

For the melody Suzie 2 in 1 nails lamp It's a desk lamp and u in one So u put it on with the on and off button then u touch the circle on top to change it to a uv lamp♥️

Ok so I’m going to tell you guys the problem with this kit… I have it … I only use the tips for press ons now. When you use it as an apres system, if you are taking a Hot bath or cleaning with hot water. This system will bend and the nails will come off. They aren’t good at alllllllll.

Yup,I hated these, My Kiss Full Cover Nails Are better than these and last for a month or longer. Even though they are plastic, i continue to always go back to these because I deep clean for a living and they don't bend or Budge at all with all the chemicals/scrubbing I do on top of doing the dishes a million times at home. They are still my HG

I really like this series! it's nice to know what's out there and actually works. something I use to make it look better around the cuticle and more "natural" is to not put the tip flush with the cuticle. after it is on, you can rough up the end by your cuticle and use a primer to "melt" it and blend it in better. Then, just use a base coat to make it all more smooth. I find that it works best with this method and is good for people who don't have or want to pull out a nail drill!

Girl, I have a $15 lamp from Amazon and it works just as well as a salon lamp. Just make sure that it has a lot of ratings and that most of them are positive.

Just make sure that it’s at a wattage that can cure anything. Mine is a 48wat led/uv and it will cure anything I need it to no problem. It was 20$ off Amazon. You can always find good ones that work just make sure you know what your looking for and don’t buy anything without looking at the ratings and reviews

I was about to ask for the same thing. They all say they can be backfilled and I have yet to see someone do it. I just did mine and filed the lifted part off and then once prepped took the extend gel and used it in thin coats to go in and fill my nails. It’s worked and no lifting so far. I want to see her do it though because I in no way have her experience. I’ve only been doing my nails for a few years and these kits even more recently then that

Awww, those Hello kitty charms were super adorbs! I felt so bad the way you struggled with the melody suzie lamp, I was "screaming push the top button". 😅 As far as those small compact lamp, Companies need to start making a disclaimer that those small nail lamps are designed for flash curing only. They are not strong enough to properly cure gel 100%. I whole heartedly believe that this is the reason why more & more DIYers are getting gel allergies. You need at least 48w to properly cure gel.

I use poly gel to adhere the soft gel tips and it makes things so much easier ! I completely bypass the little lamp & go straight into my big lamp .

As an ex nail tech : I like the apres gel system but didn’t want to spend that kind of money for it so I bought kiara sky system instead. Kiara sky is the same as apres but cheaper. Overall I Love it because I don’t have to build and form the nail since I’m lazy to do it myself or ask my fam to do it. Also a tip for anyone using these type of system. You can use a peel off gel base coat for the base coat and it easier removal.
