I work in a laboratory. Through out training I wore short square press on’s I bought from Sally’s. One night I sat down and read the employee handbook. I didn’t find anything saying I couldn’t wear acrylic, false nails or long nails. Baby, That was a GREEN LIGHT for me. The next day I came back with a long full set with the 90’s inspired nail designs. I got compliments from managers too. The long full set doesn’t interfere with me doing my job. In fact one of my coworkers told me they like the occasional tapping noises. It’s like asmr for them. Lol

Use acrylic to fill the curved space and attach them instead, since you have flat nails. You could even fill in the underside of the tip to make it stronger since you’re using nail tips with more c-curve than your natural nails. That way you’re not having to press the curved nail tip flat to your nail. Just my 2 cents.

Then wash your hand using lots of soap and if there a bottle of chlorox bleach spary use a little to with the soap and sing happy Birthday or your ABC'S while washing hands making sure we clean our hands and the underside of the nails. So now they know how we do it!!!!!

There weren’t any “official” rules but I hated the constant comments every time I changed my hair or had a bright nail color or crazy design. The comments weren’t rude…It just generated conversations with ppl I did not want to have a conversation with lol. I’ve been working from home since the pandemic and I’ve gone crazy with the hair and nails. I’ve rocked every hair color from orange to rose gold. I started doing my nails after watching your videos and I’ve gotten really good. Haven’t been back to a nail salon since. I have my own nail salon set up at home. The design I find on these press on nails are so fun but not east for me to do most of the time. I do fade down the bottom of the nail to decrease the indent when using a lighter application to reduce the use of thicker acrylic. Thank you for the idea to apply top coat to keep the print from fading. You did a beautiful nail job. I love this patten.💖

I would use my nail drill to slightly thin out the the inside base of the nail before gluing I on that way it was more flush with my natural nail. It helps to keep the gel or acrylic that you put over the top a bit thinner when trying to hide the transition.

Being a college student and constantly being on my computer, I still rock some long nails even though I should probably stop lol. I can't help it, I love long nails, they fit me the best. My natural nails grow out long but, I have to put on an acrylic. My natural nails don't wanna stay in one piece lol

I was an electrician for a decade with long nails and now I work in an office and keep them long! Lol- people enjoy my new crazy antics and designs.. I usually have different themes in each hand because sometimes you just get bored before you get to the next hand or get new inspiration😂😂 anyways, yes- people always assume I need help opening my soda can or watch me type away with amazement. Lol I too am on a short nail break- life be getting too hectic! Although mine are nude, short and cut to the nail bed 😢 hopefully soon I can lay some fresh acrylic! LOVE this idea, thank you for sharing! Love from MN

When I worked at the hospital my manager would compliment me on my nails, then whenever she got mad at me she would say “your nails are to long and you need to cut them”! One time I said “this is a fresh set so these aren’t getting cut” for a few days! 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you for this!! My nails are thin and completely flat, so no press-ons will not stay glued on me, even when I file the under-side curves more flat. I’m excited to try this, though I have never used acrylic before…Does anyone think dipping powder is similar enough, or should I just watch this video until I can bead acrylic and smooth it? Xoxo

Dip would probably work just fine too, I would think
@Isabella-vg5ro
@Isabella-vg5ro 2 жыл бұрын
dip powder is essentially finer acrylic powder so it would work the same just a different application process. the only thing I'd be worried about is the ombre part since you can't really fan out dip powder like you can acrylic but it would be worth a try.

You might be able to use a dip powder for the top part, then after filing to smooth it out, use a clear gel top over it all.

I’ve seen other people secure their full cover nails with a layer of acrylic instead of using nail glue I’m wondering how long does that really last because I always do my feet with acrylic and I’ve mastered it but I have yet to do my hands I work a lot so I really wanted to do something that was going to be quick but sturdy

I’ve done that method and had it last 3 weeks if you prep you natural nails well.

This is how I regularly apply my full-cover nails. I've done it with both acrylic and polygel. Once the nail is on, I actually go over top of it with either a polygel, or an acrylic, and you can't tell me that I didn't go to the salon. I can keep my set on for over a month. It's fast, and I am SO hard on my hands, I haven't had one nail fall off. Just make sure you prep your nails well, and scuff the underside of the full-cover nail.

I’m a childminder, trust me when I say I don’t think I could do it *without* nails! They’re not super long, probably the length of these press ons, but having that acrylic stopping my nails bending is everything to me!! I hate the feeling of my natural nails bending, and love having pretty designs on my nails, so nails are essential. I’m my own boss, so I can have them as long as I like, but my personal preference is fairly short so I can still play and paint etc.
