TECHIE LIFE im about to try this right now! Recap.. It WORKED! Only problem I had was when I intitially soldered it i believe i kinda put to much solder on the bottom of connecto. After I put tv back together i Plugged it back in and NO power at all. So i toon bacl apart removed power thingy.lol heated up soldering iton and tried taking some of the solder off the connection. Once I did that I checked conector and it was still tight. So i put tv back togeher plugged it in and aeverything was perfect. Havent had problems since. Thank you man, I really thought i was gonna have to buy another tv.

Legit! I came across the video about an issue of buying s new power board and gave in like a sucker. While looking for my credit card, I had the other related videos playing automatically till yours popped up. Watched, headed to Walmart and found a soldering iron in the car stereo department. 7 bucks + 3 bucks for the smolder. Knocked it out in 15 mins and the tv works and is brighter than ever.. Your the man and I’m sumbsribing now!

I just fixed my tv by re-soldering it the same way. I have the e480-b2. I wish I saw this video first. I was using a cheap $10 walmart soldering iron and I really suck with it. I wasn't able to use my tip like yours, it wasn't hot enough to do anything. I ended up making a mess of solder over the whole thing that connected each one and then I gave up for a while. Eventually I came back and used the iron to divide each prong. After close inspection, i finally had it where none of them were touching each other, and there was at least some kind of connection for each. Yours looks like perfect little drops, great technique. I also didn't know that connector came apart, so I glued the two boards together with apoxy first. Hopefully that will make up for terrible solder joints and keep it from breaking again.

I have the same E550i-B2 TV, unhooked mine and it was almost completely falling apart. Did this fix, back in business. 30min total using solder and iron I already had. It's pretty tight working space so i did have to break a few connections I accidentally made, but all 16 pins are clean (if messy) and she's running like normal. Thanks for the video!!!

Thank you so much for doing this. Like most people who’ve posted a comment before, I called Vizio and they said the TV wasn’t cost effective to repair to push me into another product. I suck at soldering but after watching you do it twice, I did it and the TV has been working since. I would additionally suggest something I saw in another video. When you replace the board, do not tighten the screws too much. This will help prevent the soldering that you did when the board warps again, which will eventually happen. I never comment on you tube videos, but this was the most helpful video I’ve ever watched.

TheRelentlessAbyss thanks for the feedback. That's what my channel is about.. helping people fix broken things. And yes your right about the screws. The thing is the solder they use is very generic. If you use silver based, it will hold stronger.

This works. Note that only 2 pins are actually used for a connection. The solder joints for those 2 are the ones that need to be fixed. The rest (all the ones in the white area) are just for securing the connector to the board. They're not connected to anything. You can fix those solder joints (the ones in the white area) each individually or you can solder each row together. Whatever's easier for you. However, you don't have to fix those solder joints in the white area at all. After fixing the two solder joints that are actually used for a connection, you can just super glue the connector to the board so it doesn't move. Whatever's easier for you.

This saved my TV! I was nervous I would screw something up but this was a pretty easy fix once I got everything taken apart. Thank you for the guide on how to fix it!

I just watched your video, and decided to just tap the back in the area you were talking about without taking the back off, and yay, it worked!! I thought if it's loose like you say, maybe just a little slap on that area would work. If it keeps doing this, I'll do what you suggested here. Thank you😉

Due I hadn't a pen welder I had to wrap all the black plastic parts around the cuff pin and more around it with aluminum paper, next I took the risk using a hot air gun on 900 degree and after heating solder the weld was fix. Thank you very much
