I would probably save on this one. I really like HD fibers, in which case I might save and splurge. I like how handtied lay on my head. I think they are more comfortable on me. Thanks for your video. I love how you compare styles.

For many of us, splurge is not a option but luckily I've never had the issues that many of us have regarding comfort. I love all my open cap pieces but have purchased a few lace fronts on sale. Thank you for this series Eileen so we can all be beautiful!

Thanks for the review I recently bought Kristi in Malibu Blond and the reason that I didn’t but Kristen was not to do with cost but the comfort. I made the mistake a few years ago of buying three fully hand tied Jon Renau wigs at the same time . I couldn’t wear the wigs as they were too hot on my head and very uncomfortable so wasted my money . That is only my experience other people may find that it is not a problem but I prefer mono or wefted wigs that allow my head to breath . I love Kristi and you can’t see the wefts. For these particular styles I’d probably save. I’ve splurged on some of my wigs…I do love all the bells & whistles🤗 But I have to pick & choose carefully. I buy too many wigs to be able to afford the Rolls Royce model for all of them. Sometimes I have to content with an Oldsmobile🤣🤣😂😂 As always, I enjoy your content🙏🫶♥

I like that you mention the cost. Both wigs are beautiful, and I love Jon Renau. I have an Elisha in Caramel Syrup. I got a good deal on it. Price is a factor for me as well, as value for my dollar. I might consider a hand tied cap only if I really felt I needed it for some very special occasions, like the weddings of my kids. Wefted works for me here in warmish Arizona.

I think I would splurge on a hand-tied cap. I just bought my first wig (Santa Barbara by Belle Tress). It's gorgeous, but I can't get past the wefting and itchy feel of a cap on my head. It's also a LOT of hair to me even though I believe Belle Tress' City collection is lower density. Hoping to find something above my shoulders that's light and won't emphasize my full, round face too much, lol.

If the hand tied wig was one of my “holy grail” wigs (RW Straight up with a twist or BT Lady Latte), I would definitely splurge! I have had the experience of wefts showing due to strong winds. The wefts also sometimes don’t lay nice and flat. I would love to not worry about either of these issues since I wear these two styles regularly. Unfortunately, neither of my holy grail wigs are available in hand tied but I would definitely splurge if they were.

I started on my wig journey for beginning hair loss about 8 years ago. My hair loss isn't severe so using hats has been adequate. I have about 6 wigs and do not like any of them. I find them uncomfortable and feel claustrophobic wearing them. I've thought about toppers too. So anyway, I will consider this one. If I still don't like it, then at least I'll know it. (talking about Kristi).

I have two Kristen wigs. Was very happy with the first but the second one has some of the worst permatease I've ever seen. Lots of little hairs sticking straight up everywhere on the top - so much so that it's very visible as is the wefting a bit, regardless of how I part it. I can deal with the wefting but those weird hairs are driving me nuts. It is an unrooted style but I don't see how that should matter. Any ideas?

I bought the hand tied “Kristi” in December and love it! However, it was on clearance at Wig Studio 1 so not as hard on the wallet. An investment for sure, but worth it!

Thanks for the video. I get such a good fit from JR petites, that I am really interested in their line. In the matter of sleek medium bobs, we are spoiled for choice. There is Cameron (longest, hand tied), Kristen (medium, wefted), and Kristi (shortest, hand tied). And Cameron comes in regular, lite, and petite. Good to know that Kristen is not too large. I was frustrated by KZbin putting link boxes right over the comparison, but it looked to me like there was no discernable difference in the movement and volume. I only have one hand-tied style, Mariska which is a shorter bob. I do not find that one hotter in summer and I am in Florida, so I would know, but I also have almost no biological hair. I think that might make a big difference. The hand-tied cap breathes on me. And it is much more comfortable. I will pay more for comfort.

Splurge only if you can afford it or find a great deal on clearance. I would rather have more fun enjoying more wigs I find on clearance for the variety of choices. If you are patient you can find amazing deals on the clearance section. This response is from my husband's account.

Save. The slight difference in the look is not worth the price when you consider the wig is not going to last that long. Even though there's no monotype on Kristen I have parted it differently than the way it came.
