Super happy I found your channel! Great narrating with no extra bs and you cover everything possible and more. I have a GMC four-window gasser with a 350 and just hit 62,500 miles; I wish it was bigger, but it'll work for me. I also have an older big 5th wheel I can rob goodies from. I'm looking forward to using your advice and help to keep me on the best track possible. Thank you!

I couldn't agree more. While you may use your solar for most of your power needs there is a time when that simply isn't going to work. At that time you need some kind of back up plan and a generator is probably makes the most sense. Keep the good stuff coming Chuck.

I’m so glad you’ve dived into this, I absolutely love your content, your delivery and the knowledge you bring. My dad who’s a master welder, perfectionist and pro builder ( used to build homes for a time ). Has always agreed with everything you’ve said when we watch your videos. As I’m building my shorty skoolie out I’m always like.. we’ll I gota do it the proper way like Chuck would want.

Thanks Chuck for making the best Skoolie videos bar none. The quality of work you do and attention to detail is exceptional. I am curious what kind of materials you typically use for the walls and ceiling though?

Good info Chuck. I will add one very important item ….. tires , and tire covers make that the last thing you do as “ tires “ are dated and make sure you have that money put aside because it can be expensive depending on Your type of Bus. A flat or multiple flats on the road can cost you more in the long run with not only safety but towing and the risk of damage when being towed.

I’m also considering having a spare on board somewhere where I can mount and unmount it by myself as I will be a solo female traveler. P.S. I have a ‘98 Int’l 3800 DT466E (8 window).

#3 fixing the exterior is an important step. I did a lot of interior work, all the way up to spray foam before working on the remainder of the exterior. I still need to paint it, which leaves a lot of the holes open to the elements. I've got it in a pole barn, but it keeps me from taking it out for fear the rain will get it.

I'm confused about the flooring part. You say that if you're installing a "roll-type" flooring you can install it under cabinetry/furniture, you can do it before the furniture, and to do vinyl and floating floors after the cabinetry -- but aren't roll type floors usually vinyl? My plan was to do a vinyl sheet/roll, without glueing (I live in Minnesota, and I've heard to not glue down when the temps regularly get below 11 or something like that), and build furniture on top. Any insight?

What made you ultimately determine that it’s not with it to use PVC conduit for all your electrical? This isn’t at all a criticism. I honestly don’t know and am trying to learn. I have just always thought that conduit makes changing electrical layouts exponentially easier; better for maintenance?

I’ve tried it and it’s a huge pain in the ass. It’s easier to just pull more wires in advance and there should be no ‘servicing’ required of the runs themselves.

What's the biggest bus that one can convert that doesn't require a CDL? 54 passenger? Or is it anything that has air brakes that requires an a CDL?

I see them for sale on marketplace all the time. Usually with broken engines. You want something local cause the tow bill isn't gonna be cheap with something that big.
