Put him deeper in. Also, it's a farming field. He could still get hurt by equipment. He needs a safer spot but i don't see any there.

But still a better chance than the middle of the road. Good observation about the field. I have stopped for turtles before but now I will be more thoughtful about where I place them out of the roadway. Maybe get them a night at the local motel 6 with a pool?
