Would you care to explain more fully? What is the deal for the pick, and what will happen to the house when you're done? I would think that even if they're tearing down the house, somebody would have to remove all the junk first.
@PaperandMoose2 жыл бұрын
@@vinyl1Earthlink This cleanout would cost the homeowner a few thousand dollars, all the while adding no value to the home. Whomever purchases the home will either have to gut it or demolish it. Most that engage in this type of work prepare themselves for removing the contents that remain. Why advise the homeowner to spend thousands when the specific type of buyer for this home will undertake the cleaning themselves? Removing the grocery bags of used tissues scattered on the bathroom floors & dining room table/cupboards filled with expired, swelling canned goods isn't going to hide the termite problem, mold problem, busted water pipes, holes in the ceiling, and rodent issue.

I lived through a flood and when we were finally able to get back in we were told in no uncertain terms were we to open the fridges that had no electricity for only 10 days! It always amazes me how many of these videos the the camera operators open the fridges and freezers as I watch saying “Don’t do it!” The seal on my fridge was damaged and every morning when I arrived I cleaned a puddle of stinkiness off the floor with bleach just to make the place bearable while we packed up everything. My fridge once strapped up had to be slid down about 10 stairs to be hauled away to the dump. I watched in horror as it was moved hoping it would not slip out of control and pin someone and burst open! Thankfully it did not. It took three strong young men and a dolly to remove it. Washing machines full of clothing and water are pretty rank also.
@PaperandMoose2 жыл бұрын
No way am I opening up that fridge! We did a cleanout a year or so ago and we had to remove the fridge, per request of the homeowner. We did as you said - strapped the doors down and then opened outside and oh man, the smells! Oddly enough, the smells in this house have bothered me much more than that fridge!

When a cleaning and circulation system in a swimming pool I worked at broke down and some guys came to fix it, they asked for the drawings (blue prints) of the system, I went to a closet where it was kept and when I picked it up it all fell apart because the silver tail bug had eaten it.

That frying pan that Tony held up early in the video might be cast iron that has rust on it. If it is it can be cleaned up and the rust removed if it is a well known brand that would make it worth the work. Also was that red “Dutch oven” on the table a Le Creuset? If so, it would be worth keeping if it is not full of rotting food, as is an expensive brand.

We have frequent buyers for the vintage clothing and so hold onto those articles for them. They meticulously clean the clothes, research, and then sell to those that are looking for that perfect vintage item. Most of the poor shoes were so hardened that fitting a foot into them would most likely either hurt one's foot or just have the shoe bust!

To hear you gag so many times and then to see your nose bleed scared me. I could not do it. My MIL and SIL are hoarders and raised 3 boys in a small home. There is a narrow walkway throughout the home that just keeps getting narrower. I cannot even visit. It is mostly food. The house smells if cat urine. It is awful and they both blame each other. I dread the day my MIL passes. She has beautiful things, but they are buried and probably ruined. I tried to help her clean out a spice cabinet once. There must have been 100 bottles and I got her to let go of 1. It is heartbreaking. I do not understand the disease or the pathology.
