The decline of Roadkill ( and a few other shows) happens when the talent for revivals is replaced with "lets order a bunch of shit from warehouses and bolt them on". There is nothing wrong with an upgrade ( a must for safety etc.), but also showcase the grit and vision of bringing a worthy machine back to service. You get this and that is why your content is top shelf and will continue to grow. Now go pull some stumps with the 4X4. A good junkman is a good friend to have!

Except this ain't a worthy machine. It is an absolutely broken piece of isht that should never be put back out on the road. The only thing that's being "revived" here is a threat to other drivers. No one ever seems to think about that when they go all goo goo over getting a junker going again and throw it out on 80 mph roadways.

I don't know if you are a glutton for punishment Mortske, but we enjoy watching you bring these old clapped-out turds like this truck back to life. Your channel, Junkyard Digs, Dylan McCool, and Vice Grip Garage are my favorite revival channels. In fact, you have inspired me to take on a clapped-out turd too (not as bad as that one), a 1988 Ford EFF YOO FIDDY 7.3 IDI pickup that needed a motor. I found a used motor in Pennsylvania out in Lancaster County Amish country for 500 bucks. I recently swapped the engine in my driveway and I'm wrapping up some electrical issues and a coolant leak at the heater core to get her back in use. You even helped fuel my son's interest in this too, he helped me with the engine swap. I have done stuff like this before years ago, but you guys have re-energized me to get off my azz and do a project and best of all with my son.

Nice video and good to see you back in the tundra and resurrected another one. You were remiss in advertising the gun rack which is particularly special. There are two take -aways from this video: Take away number 1: Like a connoisseur of fine coffee, a small block Chevy appreciates fresh ground. Take away Number 2: When you played football in high school, you started out as third string, worked hard and became second string, continued to work hard and prayed to the almighty that you could become the, "Starter-Man". Be careful what you ask for!

Missed your video yesterday. I was on the road driving over mountain passes and serious snow storms. But my '05 Chevy 3/4 ton HD diesel 4x4 with heavy steel flatbed did just fine. It's a tank on unplowed snow covered highways. Anyway, I once owned a '72 Chevy K10 with the 350 engine. Drove it for years back and forth to work in all weather. It was a great truck and did well in the snow as well. All those years of driving that K10 it only broke down once. Interestingly it was the fuel pump. Quick fix and it was on the road again. Super reliable truck!!

1:11:00 A tweak to the timing made a WORLD of difference with my 71! It wanted a LOT more timing than it had and was somehow firing at 0º base. Made it act like it had a ruptured brake booster diaphragm even though it lacks a booster(IE clutch in brakes on it wants to flame out), made it want to get hot at traffic lights, made it sound like it had a hot for teacher cam in it at idle, and all the adjustment screws on the ol' MonoJet were extra borked up to try to keep it running. I fed it as much timing as a bone stock 250 inline would take without pinging on 87 E10 and got the carb back to earth. Huge HUGE difference in how it runs. No longer dies when on the brakes, no longer gets hot at lights, idles smooth as silk. I even found 4 miles per gallon! Squeaked 20 out of it not too long ago. I am 100% convinced my aunt and uncle parked my 71 because the clutch was shot, but it still wanted a LOT of timing put into it.
