@@nicedreams7192 You effectively are. The console version wasn't developed by the PC devs. They handed over their code to Telltale and they made the console version. The PC devs had to buy back the console rights from the Telltale bankruptcy. They also didn't make much of the money off the console sales so updating it would cost them a ton of money.

Started on PS4. I have fond memories playing with my friends. I have finally decided to go to the PC version and my God, the differences are just startling and a bit overwhelming. The zombies don't scare me on console but I actually feel terror on the pc. I've been watching a bunch of videos to get myself ready to actually play the game on PC, your channel has been very helpful. Once I'm brave enough I'm sure it'll be a blast. One major difference I see is resource expenses, needing a lot more things to craft items. Bacon and eggs on console are so easy to get, yet on PC it seems our characters have forgotten how to cook breakfast lol. Long comment I know. But thank you for all of your tips and tricks videos. This channel is awesome! :) Also, when I do have the courage to play, I will now be referring to the zombies as zombie jerks hehe

Facts man, the ambient sounds are the worst. On console I used to loot towns all day long but on the PC version I just stay hunkered up in my house Lol. Idk why but the PC version feels more like a horror game because of how the zombies can hide in closets etc.

I had the opposite reaction but it got worse after they released Alpha 20. I swear the game got WAY less terrifying. It started to feel like minecraft. I generally only play minecraft when I want to relax. Alpha 15 was terrifying as hell. I spent my first night in pitch black darkness in the middle of a field because I didn't know how to do anything. every so often something would run by and give you instant diarrhea, a stroke, and two aneurisms. It was great. I literally never went outside at night until I discovered the miracle of the spiked club.

Damn bro, you can always use GeforceNow, let’s you play 1 hour for free then it takes you to the menu and you can play again or you can play 10 a month to play unlimited, that’s what I use since I don’t have a good laptop and it runs pretty well, it’s even better if you have a Ethernet plugged in

I like seeing a lot of console specific skills and such appear in darkness falls for the pc. Item levels, leveling up skills through use, combining parts, etc etc etc.

Darkness Falls mod does include the best bits of the console version with the current PC update. I also like how they slowed the beginning down by forcing you to only 2 class/skill trees at the start and leaving it to you to decide how many more classes you want to invest skill pages and time in. Allowing the trader bases to be open 24/7 is great but they are vulnerable themselves until you fortify them.... must keep Trader Jen safe! The additional items, crafting recipes and materials makes the game seem new. And then there is the fact it includes an end game quest with bosses and dungeons. Great mod!

@@jordothe1st835 you do realize they werent the ones working on the console version right? That was TellTale games but guess what? They shut down. And The Fun Pimps at the time did not want to waste time trying to find someone else to pick it up when the PC version, the main version and the thing they're developing on, needs the work too. "They should have done it in 2019" they didn't WANT to because of priorities and they lacked console dev skills. It is now 2021 and they said that they are now working on finding a publisher for the console version, however they are focusing most of their resources on getting Alpha 20 out. You have got to realize that console isn't and never was a priority for The Fun Pimps. They never did the port themselves, that was TellTale. And not to mention they were dealing for almost 2 years to get the license to the console version back. So instead of calling these "excuses", realize instead that they were priorities and obstacles.

I find it adds a little excitement while waiting for dawn. It gets boring once all your crafting is queued up and its 00:00 and you have nothing to do because you have 50 stacks of small stones already so mining in your underground bunker is meaningless. "Come on in! if you can get past the vault hatch I will be glad to give you a baseball bat in reward! Right across the left cheek! Stuck outside? No worries, I have a long range gift for you. A nice auto shotty to the skull!" Its free exp and a few less zombie jerks in the world. It helps that I always build my home base from scratch and turn it into a mini horde base fortress so its VERY secure. A double thick wall of reinforced concrete means they come for my front door, a hatch (sometimes several depending on how long ive been playing for) is laid down to let me safely open my front door and unleash heck, along with some fallback positions like a ladder to the roof so I can run to my roof and escape if I absolutely need to. It takes a VERY large force to make me sweat.

My poor cousin still stuck on console with his friends, but at least they're having fun. I just couldn't do it anymore on ps4. Tried not watching any new content bc I wanted it all to be new when I finally switched. Luckily, got a 1660 super/i510400 build just before they became impossible to find, but it build. Yes, I too seen the giant wasp on Console, now on day 211. Only thing about console I hate is sometimes you're base will just disappear. Happen to me on day 168 and the next day a Horde was on the way. I was furious. Lucky enough my lil shed outback was still there and had a few different crappy weapons but all my building materials so I was able to rebuild a whole base in 1 day and beat the Horde. It's a terrible glitch that I hope they fix because I don't want it to happen again or I may give up, that many of hrs of gameplay just to disappear is so ridiculous. But it is a fun game.

It's too bad some of the differences I've experienced I thought features were entirely removed until I looked it up, such as the changes to rotating building blocks and the block variants like ramps and stairs. Maybe they were in the tips or journal, but there really are so many to go through, I wish some of these changed mechanics were more organically introduced.

On console, if you want a wood ramp block or inside corner block, you have to craft that block in the menu. PC you have the option to change the shape of a block before placing it. PAINT for PC.

Most of the time you wouldn't use the combine item feature because that would require you to make am additional one or find another. How we would do it is by leveling up our quality by crafting low resource required tools and then when we thought the level was sufficient we crafted what we wanted. And when riding the minimize I never experienced the loading issue.

My wife and I have been playing 7DTD for about 5 or 6 years now. We started out on PS4/XB1 then upgraded our gaming PCs to play on Steam. There have been some updates we absolutely HATED and others that we felt rather OP. Devil Dogs on console SUCKED! We still have our old save game on PS4 and it's such a nostalgia trip to look at our primitive home/base compared to our independent fortresses we build now...Great vid!

It's certainly interesting to observe the enormous progress that has been done in terms of graphics, decorations and atmosphere. That's probably the thing most people can get behind, because all in all the community is pretty divided about the skill system and the recent changes of core game mechanics. What I do have to say, though, is that it's absolutely unbelievable how the developer apparently leaves a whole platform out in the cold and just ignores it almost completely. I don't play on console, but I do know about games' prices on those platforms, so letting something like this happen is a major management failure in my estimation. I think some time ago I read the game is mainly developed for PC and used to be ported to consoles by some contractor, that deal eventually fell apart or something (really don't know the details) and now there's an uncertain future ahead. I hope console people will get some justice eventually.

The upgraded gear, Moda and vehicles are the most major to me! Like a double barrel/side by side to a pump to an auto shotgun and all the mods to go with it over a longer period of time are a way better system than an AK by day 7.

I used to play the consul version all the time and just recently bought 7 days to die on the PC, I will say there is another big difference the consul version is way more buggy and glitchy. On the consul version I have had times where I will log back in and my base regenerates as the original POA on day 30, or I will have a four day straight Wondering horde, not to mention how often the game crashes

On console, you can kill bears and zombies by running them over with the minibike. When playing local multiplayer/ coop you have the fog that limits your viewing distance.

The most striking difference is the change to the stealth UI. On PS4 you crouch and see UNDETECTED|SENSED|HUNTED but on PC you only know how loud YOU are.

But also I really want the zombies, especially during the blood moon, to be alot smarter and more of them. I built a base on a lake house with a long pier going to it and they all just gather underneath you in the water and do nothing. I'd love the advanced tracking for them to know to go into the pier to get to us

Just got into 7D2D, damn I love the game. Sadly I'm playing on PS4 tho, the gameplay is still great but the graphics and especially how dull the console version is really a let down for me. Honestly I can't wait to play the finished version on PC one day :D

One of the few things I prefer in console is the scarcity of ammo You get and can craft endless amount of ammo in pc whereas in console you barely had any ammo, found a few gun parts here and there, got yourself a complete gun for one type of ammo but ran out very quickly, you used another gun that you had ammo for which wasn't a waste of ammo because you leveled up by using it and you could make a very small amount of the ammo you prefered to make it a choice. You didn't go around shooting guns from day two untill forever, it was only in the late game where with a combination of looting, crafting, and buying all the ammo you could get, could you use guns as your primary weapon, and you still had to switch up guns because you ran out of one type of ammo. All of this makes console feel like an apocalypse game and not an arcade shooter like pc and you don't get bored of using the same gun all the time. I do 100% belive the pc to be better all in all, but a few features and mechanics like this I would like to come back although they never will.

It seems the console version is about alpha 14 or 15. Before they changed the skills and crafting to how it is on pc now. I'm guessing you can't mod or edit the game files on the console version as well.

Trader missions would definitely help long term playability! On console, I rarely play past 3 or 4 weeks until I'm untouchable then start over. With missions and better gear with mods, I'd play a lot longer!

I am so gutted as I have been watching some overt KZbin's playing this game on pc, so brought it for the ps4 and I am gutted that I can 't even get a motor bike after finally checking a 'll the traders up to reaching level 71. I don't think i would be a fan of pc, like not being able to look zombies? After every hord night we go out to loot the zombies. Zombies being smart? They don't even have proper brains. Using a tool doesn't make you level up in that skill even though your character is using it more meaning the character gets more practice. I also feel like pc is a little to complex vs 7 days to die xbox.

Man, it's been a while since I played. It's funny. I never had a challenge until my last playthrough. Downloaded a headshot's only mod, set the zombies to walk only, and turned the zombie count up to 64. Horde nights are only manageable due to medkits. Traps, explosives, and fire all do little to them. They can kill them but it takes insane amounts of time. A hell of a lot of fun. Been far longer since I've played on console. You play this on pc for a while and a controller feels all kinds of wrong.

It's funny, to me it looks like you're comparing when I first played 7 days on PC to modern day. I remember a lot of my early bases just being holes in the ground lol. So much has changed since then and I think quests were my favorite addition.

I recently bought a prebuilt ABS Challenger on Newegg for $999, came with a 1660 super/i510400F/16gb RAM etc and I wasn't sure if it would run this game well at all, lol. I seen videos if it running on ultra everything smoothly and others not at all. But, yeah a 1660 super with a Intel 5, 10th gen cpu runs it smooth af and even the 1070's will as well. U don't have to upgrade to a 3060ti to get it running good, just saying. If u can upgrade ur gpu, look for a 1070-1660 super and you'll be STOKED!

Wellness has changed in the console version each food type gave u a different amount of wellness that boosted ur health and stamina permanently (until u died then u lost 10 wellness). Now its just tied directly to ur level. I feel as the game has pregressed a15 - present its been dumbed down a lot which i dont really like. But i can see why from a marketing stand point why theyve changed the game un this way

I remever coming from playing over 300 hours on console to pc I died because i made a zombie ragdoll which I assumed it was dead cause they don’t ragdoll unless they die in console so it got back up and attacked me from behind and made me get overran which just made me go man that’s a really cool mechanic

Please tell me how you built your underground base! Day 21 they broke my defenses into my base and began breaking the entrance to my under ground portion. Lucky for me I was on top of my upper base portion at the time.

Honestly, I miss the leveling system as it was previously, and apparently still is on consoles. It makes SENSE that you get better at using an item by... using that item. It's called practice. Literally how humans gain skill. Why they changed/simplified it, other than to try to be more like RUST... I don't know. (If we wanted to play RUST, we'd be playing that, not 7Days!)

It's sad they are completely neglecting the console version modern consoles can run the PC version i find it vary unlikely that it would be more stressing on the console then red Dead redemption 2 does on console it pushes the original PS4 and Xbox one pretty far but still run fine even tho my original PS4 sounds like a jet Playing rdr2. it's just they chose to do absolutely nothing with the console version of the game

I play on Xbox 1 alpha 15 and we get a game crash every 30-45 mins and or if I'm useing my forge or useing anything else I get a game crash its extreme ly frustrating especially on horde night we have to shut down my console 30 minutes before horde starts just to make it halfway through horde

the console version is basically just a shittier kit-bashed version of alpha 16, which in reality isn't that bad, alpha 16 was pretty good, it was the first version I played and I really enjoyed it. And when alpha 17 came out, due to the optimization issues and the horrible tuning of the new features I felt that it had been completely ruined and didn't play until alpha 19, alpha 19 is amazing and it's made the game so much more fun and involved and streamlined than it ever has been, I'm very much looking forward to the new updates.

Console doesn't have quests! I wish I would have known this starting out. Also the graphics are a bit outdated but that's no biggie. But the melee weapons are difficult to use for some reason.

All the things you mentioned about the differences for 7 days to die doesn't bother me at all, I prefer console over pc. The only thing I want on console is the painting ability that is it, I do not need more zombies or zombie birds, pigs etc. If I get the painting ability I will be happy.

i enjoy the xbox one version of the game, i don't have a pc powerful enough to run it on the PC... all i wouldn't mind them doing is fixing that dam glitch where it resets the sectors of land, most times deleting important things i wanted to keep, even to the point where it deleted 2 secots which was where my 'backups' were... sooo frustrating

Console has quests you have to buy them from the shop though you gett good loot only tho not really worth the few thousand dukes for just a few hundred in loot but it's good for ammo and gun parts

I used to play it on console though I bought it when it came out on pc. Said PC was already outdated so it wasn't long before I couldn't play it anymore. I came back to PC after getting my hands on a new one, and was pissed at the low performances on a rig that could theoretically run it no problem. I finally found a sweet spot to play it with decent framerate until now, I play it on GeForce Now with ultra settings and am enjoying it big time.

Just switched to pc after playing on console since day one. It's amazing compared to the console version. But I do like the old skill system. If you use a bow and arrow you would become more proficient just like in real life. Other than that its awesome. Just wish I got a pc alot earlier.

You should check out the Darkness Falls mod for the PC. It uses the old skill system as well as brings back some old creatures that was removed from PC version. The mod also makes some huge changes that makes the game feel different. If you start to get bored of the vanilla version, check out the mod to make the game seem fresh and be ready to be challenged.

5years in using ps4, i found out the game can only handle so much, once the games becomes over load in building and spikes, the game deletes old bases to build news bases or spikes. my game was lost 10 days ago now, so im looking at buying the pc 7 days to die instead,

It is a decent starting weapon. I would switch to a pump or auto shotty as soon as you can but the double barrel is a pretty good starter shotgun.

Im not a big fan, I honestly think its only a little better than a blunderbuss, and of the first three real guns, pistol, ak, double, its far and away the worst option. Better than nothing for a fast blast of damage though, and if you are able to take the time to line up your shots it can do a lot. But man, those better versions really do a great job at improving the overall value of the shotgun as a weapon. I love the pump and auto for poi clearing.
